The sharp sting of betrayal was the last thing he remembered. Cold steel slicing through flesh, the gurgling of blood, and then darkness. But death was not the end. It was only the beginning.

A searing pain jolted him awake. His eyes fluttered open to a world of warmth and softness. He felt a strange sensation, one he hadn't experienced in what seemed like lifetimes: safety. The muffled sound of voices surrounded him, comforting and gentle.

He tried to sit up but found his limbs unresponsive, too weak. Panic surged briefly until he realized the truth—he was an infant. Reincarnation, he thought, memories of his previous life, a life of shadows and betrayals, flooding back.

He was Kael, the most feared assassin on planet Earth. He was considered as a myth by the people. His stories though true seemed too exaggerated for the people on Earth.

Kael remembered his last moments. He was angered by the betrayal of the organization he gave his life to. His own students who he thought of as his own children killed him. He swore to kill them all. But he needed to grow up and get out of here if he needed to get his revenge.

He scanned his surroundings and was surprised to see a woman sleeping soundly beside him. Suddenly he felt great pain in his stomach. He could not control his infant instincts and started crying out loud.

Hearing Kael cry Elara opened her eyes and looked at her baby with worried eyes.

"Oh my baby what happened to you?" she asked. "Are you hungry again?"

WAHHH WAHHH

Kael no matter how hard he tried could not stop his crying. He subconsciously reached for the woman's breasts.

Seeing what he was trying to do Elara loosened her gown and started feeding her baby.

Kael was finally relieved.

'This tastes good!' He thought. 'So that's why babies like to drink this milk'.

SLURP SLURP

Elara looked at her son drinking milk with a serious expression. Looking at his serious expression she heartily laughed.

"You are sooo cutee." she said while hugging him tightly.

Kael released the nipple and looked at her with frustration. Feeling discomfort all over his body Kael tried to warn her.

"Gai gii gii guu (I will kill you) " He said angrily.

Hearing his shout Elara laughed amusedly. And hugged him tighter.

'She must be the mother of this child.' he thought. 'She is very beautiful.'

After drinking some more milk Kael felt too tired and dozed off to sleep.

Days turned into weeks as he adjusted to his new life.

He found out through his parents conversation that this was not the earth he used to live but was a planet called trea. And the place Kael was currently living is the Barony of Draven. His parents were noble. Though they were not rich they were still better than most of the citizens of the kingdom. Yes, this place has kingdoms and empires. The Barony of Draven was in the kingdom of Azaria.

His new parents, the Lord and Lady of House athos, were kind and loving. At first, he distrusted them, believing their affection to be a façade. But as months passed, he found himself drawn to their warmth, an unfamiliar sensation blooming in his chest. Was this... love?

Every touch, every smile from his new parents chipped away at his hardened heart. He tried to remain distant, to remind himself of humanity's greed and betrayal, but the love and care they showered upon him were undeniable.

Every evening, as he lay in his cradle, his father Throne, a towering figure of strength, leaned over him, whispering ancient tales of their house and its legacy. His mother, with her gentle touch, sang lullabies that seemed to reach into the depths of his soul, soothing wounds he hadn't realized were there.

For the first time, he allowed himself to believe that maybe, just maybe, this new life could be different.

The days turned into weeks, and Kael began to adapt to his new environment. His parents were always there, showering him with affection and care. At first, he tried to push them away, to remind himself that trust was a weakness, that love was a lie. But every time he felt their warmth, his resolve weakened a little more.

Every morning, as the sun filtered through the curtains, Kael's mother entered the nursery. She picked him up, her touch gentle and soothing. "Good morning, my little Kael," she whispered, her voice filled with love. "Did you sleep well?"

Kael looked into her eyes, searching for any sign of deceit, but found none. Her affection was genuine, her love unwavering. He felt a strange warmth in his chest, a feeling he hadn't experienced in what felt like an eternity.

His father would often join them, his presence a comforting one. He would lift Kael into the air, making him giggle despite himself. "Look at our little warrior," he would say, pride evident in his voice. "One day, you'll be as strong as your father."

As the months passed, Kael found himself slowly lowering his defenses. He began to enjoy the moments with his parents, the small gestures of love and care that filled his days. His mother's gentle touch, his father's proud smiles—they all worked to erode the walls he had built around his heart.

One day, while playing in the garden, his mother joined him. She picked a flower and handed it to him, her smile warm and loving. "This is for you, Kael," she said softly. "A symbol of our love for you."

Kael took the flower, his small hands clutching it tightly. He looked up at his mother, feeling a surge of emotion he couldn't quite understand. For the first time, he allowed himself to believe that maybe, just maybe, this new life could be different.

As he drifted off to sleep that night, cradled in his mother's arms, he felt a sense of peace he hadn't known in his previous life. He was no longer alone, no longer surrounded by betrayal and deceit. For the first time in a long time, he felt... loved.
