Chapter 1
Kelvin ransacked through the woods as the pain of losing his mate fell on him so badly that he left his pack to seek refuge in the absence of what would remind him of her again. The leaves rustled, and the breeze blew wildly in the cold night. His senses grew without defence as he lay on the ground, harbouring the things of the moonlight town. The night went deep into his arms as he fell asleep.
"Andrea?" He saw a figure turn back at him. He rose to take a better view, but before he could get close, the fight escaped his sight. He woke up to a stirred heartbeat, and he could feel it. The presence of his mate, the one he lost to the hands of an incurable illness.
(Sighs.) "I better move fast."
Kelvin walked down a clear path that led to the rise of Moonlight Town. His appearance in the atmosphere of the town created a feeling of appreciation inside of him. "Go forward, Kelvin." His wolf spoke behind him.
"You do feel the pain too, right? I miss her scent too."
He walked further into a restaurant. His gaze was on every little thing in the area. He couldn't pick a thing but one. "How may I help you, sir?" His move was interrupted by a voice that sounded so sweet. From an employee who decided to walk up to him as he looked confused.
"I'll just walk back outside." He said this, trying to turn back.
"Hold on, do you by any chance need anything? You'll be attended to; that's what I meant." She looked at him, giving him a pretty smile.
"I don't mind; I'll just go back outside."
"Alright, if you say so. Head on, then be sure to come back later." He wandered around till the sun set, and he came across a beautiful house and a girl coming out from the entrance. "She's beautiful,he thought to himself.
"Why's he starting at you.? David asked, noticing Kelvin'd been standing for a while.
Ivy looked up. "I don't know, but what does that matter.?" David tried moving close to Kelvin, but Ivy stopped him.
"Stop it, David, let's just go."
Kelvin didn't stop staring until they left.
"Creepy," she muttered.
"I didn't know I was so sexy for him to stare that long."
"What are you doing now?"
"Umm, just appreciating a random fan's love for me."
"Stop it, Ivy."
"Come on, David, don't get it on your head. He's just adoring, I guess."
"Yeah sure." David smiled, trying not to get hurt.
"Hey Mel, Hi, Are you up for hanging out after school?"
"Ivy, I'm not in the mood for jokes."
"This isn't a joke, girl. I'm asking you out."
"I want to have a bit of peace."
"Alright, that's fine. Just say yes to the hangout after school."
"No, I'm not meeting."
"Whatever."
The school noise went right through the hall, and Ivy noticed a glare. "He's doing it again." She gave Mel a point to figure out.
"What's that?" Mel didn't get through till she saw Kelvin standing by his locker and staring hard at them.
Kelvin noticed her fear and knew she was frightened. He intended to move closer to her and get to know her.
"He's coming here, Ivy. Do you know him?"
"No, I don't. He's just a random guy who's been staring at me since yesterday. I didn't even know he was here.
Right before Kelvin could move closer, David bumped into their faces, and they couldn't find Kelvin again.
"What the hell is wrong with you!?" They both yelled at him.
"Hey guys, chill. What's so upsetting?"
"Fuck off." Mel retorted.
Kelvin walked into the class after everyone else. Ivy saw him and wondered why he went around staring at her. Kelvin kept his head low while everyone else awaited the teacher. There was tension, a rising feeling of curiosity in the eyes of Ivy, and anger in David's eye when he saw how Ivy looked straight at Kelvin.
David banged on the table and stood up. He moved close to Kelvin, who had his head on the table fixed like he didn't care. David pulled up Kelvin's shirt and drew him up. Kelvin looked into David's eyes, and he pulled back immediately.
"Hey."
"Hi, I saw you there."
Yeah, umm, I'm sorry. I didn't mean to scare you."
"It's fine. I didn't know you schooled here; I haven't seen you around here before."
"I'm a transfer student, like I just got transferred, literally."
"Oh, yeah, right." Ivy gave a chuckle.
"Shouldn't you join the school baseball team? You pulled quite a muscle in class earlier." She smiled lightly.
Kelvin gave a disapproving face. "Don't say no; you can't give away all that muscle strength without playing baseball."
"Alright then. We'll see."
"I'd go on then."
Ivy went home feeling all pleased after talking to Kelvin. She couldn't wait to see him play baseball. Her thoughts all through the night after she got home were Kelvin.
It was a bright Friday morning, and Ivy took her time to dress well. A minute didn't pass without her bluffing each word about Kelvin. Right beside Mel, who decided to meet up with her to go to school together,.
"Good morning." Ivy waved at Kelvin, who was busy with the other guys on his team getting ready for the game.
"Good morning again." He replied. Ivy ran towards him. "Are you ready for the game today.?"
"I guess I am."
"You were able to join them so fast." She said.
"I have friends too, Ivy."
"You know my name, and I don't know yours."
"Not bad for someone who's
got friends. The name's Kelvin." He smiled and went forward to the game spot.
