Lily sat quietly on the bed with her phone in her hands. She wanted to concentrate on the romance novel that she started just the night before, but her mind kept wandering off to the just concluded meeting with Asher and Doctor Roy. She couldn't help it. Before the doctor walked in, she was sure she had to leave the Blackwood mansion, but the unexpected turnover by Asher left her stunned. As someone who believed in the supernatural so much, Lily considered it to be a miracle.
Taking her eyes away from her phone, the sound of the door opening brought her mind back to the present. Her eyes fell on Asher who had, minutes ago, seen the doctor off and finished his cup of coffee.
"Why aren't you eating anything?"
Was the first thing he said to her. Lily looked around as if she didn't already know there was no sign of food.
