Chereads / Captain Capitalism: The Money-Maker System / Chapter 52 - Thanks to Moros

Chapter 52 - Thanks to Moros

While Moros was happily munching on cooked fish, ignoring the wildfire to the best of his ability, including the undressed Mandy, one should not forget about everything that he has done so far.

Let us take a look at how Moros had used his god-given talent to make things worse for everyone involved.

It all started on a forgettable holiday where some rich kids were let loose on the planet of Avarosia killing everything that happened to come in front of them. As a result, the kids had way too much fun and now had told more murderous rich toddlers about it.

The life on Avarosia certainly was very appreciative of the murder tourism that had grown popular over the last 2 weeks. The workers in the guild were certainly very happy that Moros had brought way more screaming toddlers into the guild.

Of course, the personnel enjoyed doing overtime too. So many people wanted to go to the planet, pauses were overrated anyhow. Moros was very popular for his influence…

The guild workers certainly would want to have a deep discussion with Moros about the wonderful consequences of his actions.

But, these were not the only people Moros' antics had changed for the 'better'?

Poppycock, the dwarf with a loving wife, found himself in hiding. His business was not doing all too well either, Moros had attracted the wrong kind of people, people that you did not want to mess with.

He saw bounty hunters on the daily that were looking for him and his family. Once he saw Moros, he too would like to have a word or a fist in his face about the trouble he always causes for others.

For now, Poppycock needed to survive long enough to be able to beat some sense into his best customer.

Next, we have the lovely prison workers, what harm could Moros possibly have done to them.

He did not do that much, in his trip fueled on 20 happy pills he simply destroyed the entire facility used for killing goblins, wreaked havoc all over the prison and caused 3 people to have withdrawal symptoms─leading to the death of one.

Though as it always goes, he made it even worse.

In the process of said drug-fueled frenzy he too made a big debt. Who could have known that destroying half the prison would be that costly? Sending him to hunt and capture was totally a nice idea to repay all of it.

Nobody could have predicted that he would lead about 2000 goblins into the net in the span of a few hours…

As a result, in the capturing area below the prison, an ongoing war between goblins and the prison staff for the supremacy of the entire prison facility. There have been 30 fatalities so far, the count still rising.

Even the mysterious woman that had captured Moros, had been ordered back from her holiday. In one hand a cocktail, in the other a concentrated beam of light, tearing through goblins left and right.

She should have bathed in the water, flirted with the inhabitants, instead she was only bathing in green goblin blood. The cute little black bikini she bought for her vacation was now showered in yummy goblin juices.

Today was certainly the happiest day of her life.

May the gods take mercy on the poor soul that caused her to lose out on her holiday, because she would have none.

Speaking of ladies out for Moros' blood, there still was his best friend Malissa, who also did enjoy his absence all too much. He neither reacted to her messages, nor had he left any word after going to Avarosia.

From time to time she had already checked on the planet, asked the guild staff. But none claimed to have seen him.

It was already annoying her that the guy was lost somewhere, but why did all these people have to constantly ask her?

If she knew where he was, she would not have been in school, keeping it a secret. She would have been wherever he was, kicking his ass and turning him into an eunuch for disappearing without a trace.

But Moros was also not the only one gone without a trace.

Several entire villages have been burned to the ground thanks to the fire that Moros spread all over the Evergreen Forest.

The young people tried their hardest to flee somewhere safe, only carrying a few of their possessions, everything else was lost to the fire. With tears covering their faces, they deemed this an act of god seeking revenge on them

Those too old or incapable of walking stayed behind, burning alive and perishing in their home. They prayed till their very heart stopped, seeking forgiveness from the gods.

The gods might not have listened, but they were fair.

Goblins had their towns razed to the ground, a victim of the fire that did not discriminate. Regardless of what they attempted, most of them fell prey to an inescapable net of flames.

Such terrible loss and tragedy would certainly make people care for them, at least before they are forgotten in the next sentence.

This fire was taking all of their bases and all of their places to retreat, everyone, every human could now easily spot where goblins gathered. Any hideout, lookout or place to hide was now set ablaze.

The goblin king and the remaining chieftains chose to wait out the fire, deep in their secret cave. In it the source of all goblins, a mystic relic that allowed to summon goblins from a warrior of a different kind.

It was a mirror, which showed no reflection. Whatever living being was placed before it, was recreated as one of their kind, which walked out of it with its head held high.

Their ancestors used to have the strongest, most fierce fighters placed in front of it.

Today they had one with issues, severe issues in regard to other humans. Human man made him severely angry, wanting nothing more than to beat them up. Woman, made him "excited" to the point of becoming a drooling mess.

The goblins on Avarosia had indeed fallen into rough times…

Yet, these times were about to change…with the cover of the forest, they had kept the relic hidden, not produced too many goblins.

However their plan had already started, there was no need for secrets anymore. Either they would live or the Goblin king and his followers would die trying.

The shamans of the goblin king started to hasten the relic. Now, with every second another goblin was created, another goblin ready to die for the holy cause.

After the fire had passed, they would join in their brothers from all over the planet and wage war against the tyranny of the man-creature that had stolen all of their lands, killed all their ancestors and banished them to the furthest reaches, the godforsaken land called Evergreen Forest.

Avarosia had not always been the name of this realm. It was the Goblin kingdom, Gallenstein before. And without man-swine that was the name it would carry again!

With a big grin the Goblin King, cloaked in shadows, eyed the flames on the outside…soon this realm was in the hands of the goblin again, he swore to let the human cities burn just like they caused their home to burn.

Yet, there was a thing that even the Goblin King did not know, a secret mechanism planned by the last goblin of the old generation, if even their new home was thoroughly destroyed by human hands.

It was a portal connecting to all different planets and it began to shimmer in bright, fluctuating light.

A figure, translucent and old goblin appeared in front of it.

Its non-existent eyes gazing over the burning lands of their home for generations. A wave of sadness plagued its face, as it came to realise that the humans had not stopped their ways of greed and tyranny.

"If these humans had destroyed the last goblin of this world, than they too shall not have it," with a flick of its fingers, the portal activated at once, shining in a purple hue.

All the goblins, from all over the realms would come to this place and attack everything that stood before them. A world without goblins should be repaid in a world without humans!

And out they came, goblins. At first it was 1, then 2. Soon they were 5.10. 100…with each second more green pair of legs stepped out of the portal.

These creatures looked the same, but they felt different. These beings were not civilised, they seemed wild, primal. If the normal lusted after woman and hated man, then these creatures did not hate, they just stabbed and killed.

And these creatures did not look like they minded stabbing the others close to them either.

With a crazed smile, the translucent imagery of the old goblin laughed one last time before fading away.

It had seen the future in those last moments, it was a dead one.

And everything was all thanks to Moros, the guy still swimming surrounded by the sea of flames. He was blissfully unaware just how much damage he had done.

Would he ever learn from his mistakes or would he only comprehend the extent of his mistakes when the whole world was burning?

Well, the day of finding out the truth drew closer and closer all parties began to move. A world spanning conflict drew near…

All thanks to Moros!
