Chapter 26 - Man vs Man Bull

'Seriously, isn't this a little overkill?'

[Tainted Minotaur]

[Lord of the second room, Foot soldier to the god Emon, Bearer of tempered strength]

'It has titles too? Oh this can't be good.'

The Minotaur threw forward its head and released a loud roar, startling Mark. His heart raced, and his ears hurt.

The beast snorted, the act crowning its presence as a powerful enemy–one not to be messed up with.

Mark swallowed and held up the spider sticks.

'I have had some stat upgrades, if I survive this, I'll certainly get some rewards.'

He assured himself, trying to make sense of the dangerous position he had placed himself in.

[New Quest: Man vs Man Bull]

[Main Objective: Defeat the Tainted Minotaur and claim its titles]

[Reward: +7 Agility, +13 strength]

The notification acknowledged their face off. He narrowed his eyes, focusing on what was to come–the bull's charge.

The Minotaur roared once more and stormed forward.

It raised its arms wide, flaying as it ran forward, ready to grapple and crush its twiggy enemy.

Mark jumped to the side, away from its charge, purely out of instinct, he almost didn't catch the monster's charge as it was incredibly fast.

It zoomed past him, reaching about six meters before it stopped, its hooves dragging dirt as it slid to stop.

Mark looked up from his crouched position, the door was right there, exposed and welcoming, he only needed to reach for it. He stood up and took two steps in a scuttle when he felt a tight grip around his leg.

Before he could turn to see that the Minotaur held it, he was flung, fortunately, he maneuvered his body mid flight, twisting and flipping, and then landing on his feet.

"Woo." His balance still hazy with the landing, he brought his eyes up, when he saw the Minotaur charging at him once again.

And once again, he jumped out of harm's way, this time, the beast followed with an attack from the creature fastened to its groin.

The serpent zoomed in for a bite, it opened its large mouth, closing on Mark and ready to bite down.

Mark with the swiftness of gale wind threw up his hands, holding up the spider legs in a cross and stopping the bite from reaching him.

"Mhm!" He was pushed back from the impact, his feet left the ground and the snake continued with its onslaught.

Mark's feet found the ground again, and they dragged through it as he landed, the great serpent stopped and withdrew itself for it had reached its length limit.

Before Mark could catch his breath, the beast stormed forward this time and got in front of him, with its two hands raised and descending at him.

His eyes widened, his senses flared, and he twisted his body, swiftly going out of harm's way.

BOOM

The sound of the impact was terrifying, had that blow struck, he would have been nothing but a bloody mush.

He swung the two spider legs, his first time going on the offense since their grapple began.

PA

The legs struck strongly on the Minotaur, its eyes were fixed on its thigh where he had struck and they turned to Mark.

Not even a reaction or whatsoever from the strike.

Now was its turn, it swung its arm and gave Mark a slap on the chest, sending him back in pain.

His body turned in the air and he crashed on the ground, heat surging from the area he was hit.

His ears rang and his eyes dimmed, but he dared not go unconscious in this fight, and so he forced himself up, pushing himself with every ounce of his will and with his elbows.

A shadow masked his figure, and he saw above the beast up in the air and sending down a hand thrust.

Mark scrambled, rolling backwards and launching himself with his strong arms.

The beast hand tore through the soil like it was old cheese, its black eyes turned to him in annoyance.

'How am I supposed to stop this thing? Its skin is just as tough as these spider legs.'

However , he still had his special move, and so, with a mental command, he called forth the move.

'Withdraw all spider legs! Wind of Euses!'

A dozen white lights suddenly appeared above and plumes of wind gathered at his legs, taking him up.

And from the white lights, fell the spider legs, as stabbing poles, they all were concentrated at a point –the Minotaur's head.

The Minotaur wasn't as stupid as Mark had hoped it would be, for it threw up its hands above its head, shielding it.

The pointy sharp legs tore through its skin, only in a modicum portion however, but it gave Mark hope that it could be hurt, however, that would be another day as he zoomed for the door.

The Wind of Euses grants flight with the help of gentle powerful wind around one's limbs, and it lasts for ten minutes, that was more than needed time for Mark to scramble and escape.

The gentle wind wound across Mark's body like a guide teaching him to dance, it swept around his body, caressing it with comfort and familiarizing with it. Mark felt as light as a feather, like a child in a flower field–pristine, free and full of grace.

Then the Minotaur snorted and then groaned, taking Mark out his trance.

The door was only twelve meters away, he could make it, or so he believed.

The ground shook and sank where the Minotaur stepped, Mark turned to see that it was trailing him, and it was awfully closer than what he was comfortable with.

He frowned, and as if the wind read his mind, it zoomed him forward even faster.

It was a race, a raging bull against a flying man, who would catch up?
