And then his feet left the ground.
He went for a shot…
And it struck, and bounced the ball into the burning lake. The area struck sank inwards and from it, a tab jutted forward, and fell on the ground just an hair length away from the portal.
Mark let out a deep breath and then scooted to it, and he picked it up.
It was a black stone, with the key fixed inside of it, the rock was molded around the large key.
Mark raised the tab and slammed it on the ground, causing a loud splat sound that echoed across the searing cavern.
The tab broke to reveal the large key. He picked it up, and hurriedly moved to the tab. He inserted the key and before he could turn it, it was swept away from him, sinking into the keyhole, and obscurity.
Then he heard the sound of stone rubbing stone and the top of the tab split, and it came open.
Mark opened his mouth in shock, he then stood up and looked into the opened rock.
In it was a ring, a beautiful ring with a large red stone sitting on the arches of gold.
"Whoa."
He picked it up, and walked carefully with it in hand.
[Ring of Count Damarian]
The name sounded quite fancy to Mark.
'It looks so cool.'
Then he focused on it, and the goddess's eye revealed more information.
[Ring of Count Damarian- legendary item]
[Grants the might of a lord vampire for 15 minutes. It requires the wearer's blood for use again, after which it has collected it for a day]
[To use, read out the lines inscripted in the ring]
Mark read the line, but not aloud.
[The system has noticed a legendary item in close proximity, do you want to deposit it?]
[Yes/No]
"Hmmm… No." He answered.
"A line could be the gap between life and death in this world, I'm not taking my chances, I'm keeping it."
He wore the large ring into his index finger, and as soon as he did, it shrank to fit his finger.
"Cool." He muttered, holding out his right hand and appreciating the lick of gold and the red stone.
Hundreds of meters away from him were behemoths of living stone swinging their giant blades at a snappy brawny monster.
Waves of lava surged with every strike, it was a great battle to behold, and part of Mark wanted to move closer and watch the fight unfold, but he thought against it, and he was much too far away.
Not to mention his proximity with the portal. He watched as one of the living statue sent down a swing, and the lava beneath part.
"Wow"
He snapped out of his state of consternation and looked at the portal.
The previous portals with their brilliant glow and concrete shape felt welcoming, and there was an absence of worry when he jumped in. Mark couldn't say the same for this one however.
However, the end of the room was here, and there had been no other portals in the area. This one had to be the one.
He ignored his worries and took a dive right in.
Once he jumped into the portal, he fell face first on grass.
"Ouch,"
Mark stood up and cupped his broken nose, he looked around him, and all he could see were scattered huts a the bottom of a grassy valley .
He was atop of the valley, one which wasn't tall by any means.
The way down was too steep, and although it wasn't too high, coming down like that would have his back hurting at the very least.
"Wind of Euses is out, otherwise it'll land me to safety."
He wound up his system sheet and opened the Skills tab, where he saw the Wind of Euses skill.
[Wind of Euses- refresh rate: 1hour:13 minutes]
He sighed and brushed off the information from his mind.
"Perhaps something from my inventory will do."
He opened his inventory and looked what was upon it. The Silverine Fanged Spider legs were gone, he had used all in a bid to get away from the Minotaur. He looked for what could be useful, then his eyes stopped at the Rexadurus bones, the bones of the vicious beast he outsmarted and was lucky against.
"This will do."
"Withdraw two of the Rexadurus bones." He commanded, and a hip bone and the skull appeared in his hand.
"No no. Deposit."
'Will it heed me if I'm more specific? Only one way to find out.'
"Withdraw Rexadurus femur!"
Nothing happened, no light shone.
"Withdraw Rexadurus leg bones."
The same absence of response occured.
And like that, Mark continued withdrawing and depositing the bones till he stopped and smacked his head.
"Stupid stupid stupid." He scolded himself as he hit his head.
"Withdraw all Rexadurus bones."
White bones fell around him, and he rummaged through them and till found the parts he was looking for: the femurs.
He took them and put them aside, then he called the rest into his inventory.
He held the femurs tightly in his hands and then descended, immediately digging the femurs into the soil as he did.
The femur dragging through the soft soil would break his fall, so he thought.
His body smacked the vertical soil a few times, and the friction of his body against the soil caused some parts of his outfit to tear.
Then with he thump, he landed on a bush causing the leaves to rattle and the little animals and insects that had found shelter in it to scurry.
It was time to begin exploring.
