Chapter 26: Test of patience
Jin arrived at the bar early, ready for another shift. The morning sunlight filtered through the windows, casting a warm glow across the polished wooden surfaces. As he walked in, the familiar sounds of clinking glasses and the murmur of early patrons greeted him. It was a routine he was growing accustomed to, yet each day brought new experiences and challenges.
As he set up the bar, Jin's thoughts drifted to his recent rewards. The personal jet and the extra points in the system's shop were incredible gifts, opening up a world of possibilities. He wondered what else the system had in store for him, but for now, he focused on his current task.
The bar quickly filled up, and Jin slipped into his role effortlessly. His charm and professionalism shone through as he mixed drinks and engaged in lighthearted banter with the patrons. His skill and ease behind the bar drew admiring glances and appreciative smiles from the customers.
Around midday, the crowd grew busier. A group of businesspeople entered, their loud conversations and laughter cutting through the usual ambient noise. Jin greeted them warmly, serving their drinks with his usual flair.
One man in particular stood out. He was middle-aged, with a receding hairline and a slightly rotund figure. His expensive suit and flashy watch contrasted sharply with his less-than-stellar appearance. He eyed Jin with a mixture of curiosity and disdain, his expression souring as he observed the attention Jin received from the patrons.
Jin noticed the man's gaze but continued his work, unbothered. He served a demanding crowd with ease, handling multiple orders with precision. The man's annoyance grew with each passing moment, his jealousy evident in his scowl.
"Hey, pretty boy," the man called out, his voice loud and mocking. "Think you're something special, huh?"
Jin looked up, his calm demeanor unwavering. "Just doing my job, sir. Can I get you another drink?"
The man sneered. "You think you're better than me, don't you? Just because you're good-looking and can mix a few drinks."
Jin's smile remained polite. "I'm just here to serve the customers and make sure everyone has a good time."
The man's eyes narrowed. "You don't belong here. You're nothing but a pretty face in a dead-end job."
Jin felt a flicker of irritation but kept his composure. "Everyone's got their path. I'm happy with mine."
The man leaned closer, his breath reeking of alcohol. "You think you're untouchable, don't you? Well, you're not. I can make things very difficult for you."
Jin's gaze hardened. "And why would you want to do that?"
The man straightened up, a smug smile spreading across his face. "Because I can. I'm a powerful man in this city. I can ruin this bar if I want to."
Jin's patience was wearing thin, but he remained calm. "And which company are you from?"
The man puffed out his chest. "I'm from Goldens Limited, a major sales company. We have influence everywhere."
Jin's expression turned cold. "Is that so?"
The man smirked. "That's right. And if you know what's good for you, you'll show some respect."
Jin took a deep breath, his mind racing. He knew that he had the power to deal with this man, but he needed to handle the situation carefully. Without another word, he pulled out his phone, his fingers hovering over the screen.
The businessman watched him, a mocking grin on his face. "What are you going to do, call the cops? Go ahead, see if I care."
Jin's eyes locked onto the man's, his expression unreadable. "Just wait."
The chapter ended with Jin's phone in hand, the screen glowing ominously. The businessman's grin faltered slightly, sensing that Jin was not someone to be underestimated.
