Chapter 35 - Chapter 35: Gathering Information (2)

The woman was taken back by his questions about what kind of auction house sells information!! Although, she retained her calm and quietly shook her head.

"Our auction house doesn't sell any kind of information" The woman respectfully replied.

Upon hearing this Myles fell silent since it meant that he would gather information about the Devil's forest from somewhere else. It was very troublesome to say the least!

However, his mood became better seconds later.

"Although, our auction house doesn't sell information. There is a particular guy around here who sells information for money, "the woman replied.

A slight hope was visible on the corner of Myles's eye upon hearing this.

"What kind of information does he sell?" Myles asked.

"Well as far as I know that he sells the information about certain locations such as their coordinates, its inhabitants and what to look out for.

He also sells sensitive information about the kingdom from what I have heard" The woman replied.

Upon hearing the first lines of words, Myles eyes shone like stars in the sky. Since he just might be able to obtain what he desires from him!

"Where can I find this guy?" Myles asked.

"You can find him at the left corner of the entrance of the auction house, he appears there every week. He will be wearing a black robe which has the imprint of black flames. He will also be wearing a black mask, "the woman replied.

"Thanks for your help, I will leave now" Myles remarked.

Without wasting even a single second, he started to make his way toward the entrance of the auction house as quickly as possible.

A few minutes later.

Myles had finally arrived near the entrance of the auction house. He quickly looked at the left corner of the auction house.

Surprisingly, he spotted a man who completely matched the description of the woman.

"He is the person I am looking for" Myles muttered under his breath.

He walked towards him a mere second later. Halting his steps when he got close enough to him.

"Are you Shadow Crawler?" Myles asked when he got close enough.

For the first time since his arrival, the man finally looked at him directly, staring at his eyes. A sense of fear descended upon Myles when their eyes met one another.

Thankfully, the man quickly retracted his stare, allowing Miles to regain his composure.

"What was that!?" Myles thought to himself.

"Yes, who might you be?" Shadow Crawler asked.

Even though Myles had grown wary of him. It didn't mean that he had forgotten about his goal.

"I want to buy some intel from you." Myles said.

"Oh? It has been a while since I got a customer. Tell me what information you need?" The man asked, his voice carrying curiosity.

"What about the prices?" Myles asked.

"It depends on the information you are trying to obtain. First tell me what information you want" The man replied.

Myles took a deep breath and asked.

"Do you have information regarding the devil's forest such as it's coordinates, terrain and its inhabitants" Myles asked

"I was certainly not expecting you to ask about the Devil's forest" The man remarked.

Upon hearing this, Myles shone like stars in the sky. What did it mean for the man? It meant that he knew something about the devil's forest!!

"Tell me everything about the devil's forest that you know" Myles exclaimed, his voice carrying seriousness.

"Everything has a price" The man grinned.

"Don't waste any time and state your price" Myles exclaimed.

"5000 universal coins" The man grinned while stating the price.

"Ain't no way in hell that I am paying such a high price" Myles remarked.

"It's not a high price considering that you won't be able to get this Intel from anywhere except me in the outer edges of the kingdom." The man said.

Well if what he said was true then it wasn't that high of a price. However the problem was that he didn't have this much money in the first place.

If he had the money then he would have paid him if he had no choice. However, currently he had no choice but to keep negotiating.

He started to think about what to do. A few seconds of thinking later, an idea flashed in his retina.

The man wasn't lowering the price, it was certain and he didn't have enough money. However what if he offered something valuable instead of money. Currently, he had some valuable goods looted from the thieves.

"Will it do if I offer you something valuable in exchange of money" Myles asked, his voice carrying concern

"Doable," The man replied.

Myles heaved a sigh of relief upon hearing this. He took out 3 energy bombs from his inventory. The energy bombs materialized on his hand, extending the energy bombs towards him after the materialized process was completed.

"Can you give me the Intel I want in exchange for these energy bombs?" Myles asked, his voice carrying nervousness.

Upon hearing this, the man didn't reply immediately. Instead, he took one bomb from his hand and began to inspect it.

He inspected it for a few minutes before passing his judgment.

"Hmm, these bombs are very high quality goods. If you give me three of them then we can proceed with the trade" The man replied.

"I agree, take the remaining bombs" Myles replied almost instantly without any hesitation.

It did hurt him to give all three of the energy bombs away. But if he could obtain the information he wanted from them it was all worth it.

Myles handed over the remaining bombs to him a few seconds later. Shadow Crawler kept the bombs in a small pouch.

"Now tell me everything that you know about the devil's forest" Myles exclaimed after handing the energy bombs.

"Let's go somewhere safe" The man suggested as he began to walk in a certain direction.

Myles nodded and followed him. The man took him to a dark corner where there wasn't anyone near him.

"First tell me, do you know why the devil's forest is called this in the first place??" The man asked.

Myles shook his head, indicating that he didn't know anything about it.

"It's because of the powerful beasts residing in the forest. Only a very small proportion of those who have ventured into the forest have made it out of the forest alive" The man said in a grim voice, trying to make Myles realize the danger of going there.

Myles didn't look too surprised at this fact. Since he knew that the mission was going to be anything but easy. After all, how can gaining the heritage of a person who was just a single step away from reaching the top be so easy?

"Don't underestimate the danger lurking in the devil's forest. Since according to reliable sources even a Grade- A fighter had perished there!!" The man exclaimed his voice carrying seriousness.
