Tic toc, tic toc...
Time went by quickly, and for a while, Argon completely forgot about Leo waiting in the room. It didn't seem like a problem to Leo either, as she had already fallen asleep on the sofa the second she got there. The exhaustion of the days before had caught up with her, and she rested ever so happily.
The sun went down. Kiera had, by this point, rested his head on the headrest of the car seat when there was a buzzing on his phone. Turning his head around to glance at the place where Leo had left her phone after leaving, he saw the caller ID. His already serious gaze became even more serious, and he picked up the call instantly.
"Yes, Master?" Kiera listened intently to whatever Magnus said to him and then nodded. "Yes, he is still inside." He replied, "Right away, Master!" He added and then ended the call. He sent a message to Leo, started the car, and drove out of the parking lot.
At around 8 o'clock, Argon felt like his neck had gone stiff, and even his wrist had started to ache after the constant work. He finally decided to look up from the design he was working on and stretched his body before breathing deeply. "What time is it?" He asked himself and then glanced down at his watch. His brows twitched. "No wonder I felt hungry." He announced to himself and got up to leave the office. His gaze fell on Leo's resume lying on the table, and he was reminded of Leo's interview. "Tsk!" He shook his head. "He should have left by now."
Seemingly hoping that Leo had left, he picked up his coat and left his office to grab some dinner. But the second he pushed open the door, he noticed the lights of the waiting room still on. He paused, his head slightly pulled back, and his eyes narrowed. "There is no way he would still be here." Not wanting to believe it, Argon slowly approached the room. To his surprise, on the sofa lay Leo, her eyes shut, breathing ever so softly with the most calm expression on her face. Argon's eyebrows lifted, and his eyes widened.
"What is he doing here?" Irritated, Argon stepped into the room. "He slept like a log!" He muttered angrily. Then Leo's eyes opened suddenly, noticing Argon a few steps away from her. She blinked a few times and rubbed her eyes.
"Did I fall asleep?" She asked in a thick, sleepy voice.
"You sure did, Mr. Leo. I thought I called you here for an interview, but it seems you took it as your private suite and decided to lounge here," Argon said, showing his irritation. Leo's gaze shifted towards the clock and noticed the time.
"What on earth? Why is it eight already? Wasn't the interview at 2ish? Did you just arrive? Do you see what time it is? What sort of man arrives at his meeting almost six hours late?! That is disappointing!" She said with a tone that held a lot of disappointment. As she said all that, she instantly remembered another thing and started to search for her phone that was supposed to be in her pocket, not wanting to anger the Grim Reaper who was waiting for her outside. As soon as she saw a message from Kiera, "I have to leave for a mission, Get back to the mansion and don;t try to act smart."
her choked after reading the message but still the threat of dying was of her head and she breath was relieved, and she sank into the sofa, giving out a relieved sigh.
Argon, greatly puzzled by her reaction, stayed there, still processing the scolding he had received from someone applying for an internship at his company.
"What did you say to me?" Argon asked, his face slightly turning red. Leo opened her eyes again and stood up, clearing her throat before speaking, slightly embarrassed after her outburst.
"Well, I meant that the meeting time was at 2 and it seems that you were a little late—not that it is a problem because you are, after all, the boss, and I—" She paused again, as saying apologetic words brought her a lot of pain and hurt her ego, but a hurt ego was better than a death sentence, so she continued. "I am—I can't say an employee because the interview has still not ended, but—" Her words continued to tumble out, and Argon grew more and more irritated by Leo's presence.
"As you know, there was no second round for the interview," Argon wanted to be clear.
Leo took a deep breath and was ready to answer his questions about the attack, just like she had been preparing for. "Then you would know why I have stopped you here. Tell me." Argon stepped closer to her, and her heart beat faster.
"Yes! The moment I have been waiting for," she said, her fists tightening. "I must not get caught. I cannot get caught. Death is inevitable! I can't die in this body too! I want to live. I want revenge on Nico!" She was determined, her eyes locked with Argon's as she waited.
"What is Autumn to you?" Argon asked.
"So I was just walking by and I saw you—what?" Leo thought she had heard the words wrong, and the answer she was giving was not for the question Argon asked.
"Who is Autumn to you?" Argon repeated.
"Who is Autumn?" Leo asked, confused. 'That sure does sound like a fancy name.' thinking inwardly.
Argon's expression was completely dumbfounded. Leo didn't seem to be lying when she said that, and his chest tightened at the sight of her acting so unaffected by someone he considered sacred. "Stop acting! I'm talking about the girl you gave your jacket to at the party!" He said, hateful.
Leo continued to look at him blankly while her head started to connect his words to the events, and suddenly Autumn's face came to her mind. Her mouth widened, and so did her eyes. "You mean that redhead?"
"How dare you call her that? She has a name!" Argon's irritation grew at Leo's unaffected attitude towards Autumn's mention and her apparent disregard for her existence.
