It had been a week since Alex had moved to Redfall. Since then, he has grown closer to Jordan, Mina, and Aurora, to the point the point where they are texting nearly every day. It was different for Alex. He was used to people knowing his secret and being treated special because of it, yet those three friends of his treated him like anyone else. He liked that feeling of being equal with everyone around him.
Throughout the week, Jordan had been pushing Alex to practice for the football tryouts as they occasionally threw the football around. Alex learned quickly that he had to hold himself back because if he went all out, he would without a doubt draw suspicion. Meanwhile, Aurora and Mina had been talking to him about their hobbies and stuff. Apparently Aurora worked at the nearby movie theater along with Mina, so they made a plan to go out to the movies over the weekend. Apparently they were showing the next installment of the Revengers, which Mina was excited for, although Alex had never heard of it. In order to avoid sticking out like a sore thumb, he binged the entire RCU in order to understand just what was happening and who everyone was.
So that Friday, everyone met at the diner like usual in order to plan for the movies.
Aurora: The best showing will be at 6 p.m. I also managed to get us the leather reclining seats, so we'll be comfortable.
Mina: B-But aren't those...you know? Sharing seats?
Aurora: *Blushes* Y-Yeah, I thought maybe the guys would share one and we would share another.
Jordan: About that...I'm not going to be able to make it.
Aurora: Why?
Jordan: Coach wants us to prep for the tryouts. Speaking off...Alex?
Alex: Fine, I'll be there. When are they?
Jordan: Awesome! They are next Wednesday.
Alex: Okay...
Mina: S-So it will just be us three then?
Alex: It seems like it.
Aurora: Well, I guess Alex will be more comfortable.
Mina: I can't wait to see the movie! It's the big Endgame event!
Aurora: Right! I can't wait.
Alex: Yeah...
Alex frankly wasn't a fan of the RCU. After watching the movies, they didn't really click with him, but he did anything to make his friends happy. The group continued to talk and eat; after an hour, they each left the diner and went back to their homes.
Alex walked through the door to his home and suddenly felt dizzy. He used his kitchen counter in order to keep him upright, as he was sure he was going to fall.
Alex: It's...been too long. I need to—no, I'll manage.
He knew exactly what was happening to him. As a vampire, there was one thing he needed: blood.
Now you may be thinking, "What about animal blood?" Well, in the end, that doesn't work; it only takes a short amount of time, but it won't restore strength, so it's basically useless. Human blood, on the other hand, is a different matter entirely, as it restores a vampire completely. Alex, however, didn't want to hunt, so instead he had another plan that night.
Alex walked over to the high school, which, to his luck, had their annual blood drive that day for donations to local hospitals, and lucky for him, the truck was still there. Although it was locked, he quickly opened the back door with brute force, grabbed three bags of blood for himself, and returned back to his house. He wasn't caught in the slightest.
*The Next Morning*
Alex had woken up very peacefully; it was the best he had felt since he moved to Redfall. Now with fresh blood in his system, he had more energy than ever, and good thing too since today was the day he'd go to the movie theaters with Aurora and Mina.
He spent a few hours at the nearby store to pickup some groceries and realized he was starting to run low on his funds. He only had enough for the next week, which meant soon he would have to work. Once he got home, he unpacked the groceries, sat down, and watched TV for a couple of hours before it was time to head out.
He put on a black shirt with a design on the front, a pair of dark blue jeans, and a pair of black basketball sneakers. He also put on some cologne just to make sure he didn't smell. Once he did that, he left his house and walked to the front of the movie theaters. The movie started at 6 p.m., and they were to meet up at 5:30 p.m. Alex, being the gentleman he is, showed up at 5:10 p.m. to make sure he was early. He learned that when a guy takes a girl out—or girls in this case—it's always best to show up early. He knew this wasn't a romantic date or anything, but he figured that he should still remain a gentleman.
After a few minutes passed, both Aurora and Mina showed up together. Aurora was wearing a black top and a pair of jeans, while Mina was wearing a white top and a skirt. They were quite beautiful; even some of the other people around them turned their heads.
The two walked over to Alex and smiled.
Aurora: Hey Alex? Did you wait long?
Alex: No, I just arrived a few minutes ago. You two look great.
Aurora: Thanks! You don't look so bad yourself.
Mina: T-Thank you.
The three walked inside and got their tickets to the movie; luckily, Aurora pre-ordered them due to her job and got the best seats in the place. They also grabbed some popcorn, sodas, and, of course, candy...well Aurora and Mina did, but Alex declined due to him not being a sweets person.
They all walked inside the movies and sat down, due to their leather reclining chairs. Aurora and Mina shared one, while Alex had one all to himself, which he didn't mind.
They watched the entire superhero movie; it was long, and honestly, Alex wasn't a fan of the time travel Deus Ex Machina, but it was a solid enough movie. They soon left the theaters.
Aurora: That was awesome!
Mina: Yeah, what a way to end the arc.
Alex: It was a good movie. So where do you all want to go now?
Mina: How about the diner? We didn't eat dinner, and it's almost 10.
Aurora: Agreed.
The three started to walk to the diner, but on the way, something happened.
???: Wow look at you.
???: Two beautiful girls by your side, c'mon share some for the rest of us.
Alex: Great...
Aurora: Leave us alone, Chris.
Alex: You know him?
Mina: Chris spent all of high school trying to flirt with Aurora, who got denied every time.
Aurora: He peaked in high school and never got over it.
Chris: Now, now, no need to be so mean, Aurora. You look even more beautiful than you did in high school.
Aurora: Fuck off.
Mina: Just leave, Chris.
Chris: Mina, c'mon now. Me and your brother used to be best friends.
Mina: That was until you tried to force yourself on Aurora!
Alex: He...did...what?
Aurora: We were at a party, and he got drunk and pushy.
Chris: C'mon, it was all in good fun.
Alex: Look, Chris? How about you just fuck right on off?
Chris: And who the fuck do you think you are? Some pretty boy who's trying to get into these girls pants? You can't fool me.
Aurora: Alex isn't like you, Chris.
Alex: I'll give you this one chance; leave, and you may be able to go home with all your bones intact.
Chris: It looks like we have a badass here, right, boys?
Goon 1: Yeah! Look at his pathetic ass!
Goon 2: All bark and no bite.
Alex: How about we test that theory of yours?
Mina: Alex, you don't-
Alex: Just head to the diner; I'll meet you there.
Aurora: Alex, no!
Alex: I'll be fine, I promise. I'm just going to teach this bastard some manners.
Aurora and Mina reluctantly left the street, leaving Alex to face down Chris and his goons.
Chris: I'm going to beat the shit out of this fake ass white knight.
Alex: Try me.
Goon 1 was the first to try and hit Alex; however, Alex quickly dodged his punch, kicking him in the ribs and immediately breaking a few.
Goon 1: Ahhhh!
Goon 2: You fuck!
Goon 2 now ran to Alex and swung for his head. Alex dodged it and grabbed Goon's 2 arm before twisting it in the completely wrong direction and breaking it.
Chris: Y-You monster...
Alex: Oh, you have no idea. Now Chris I'm going to give you two options. One, you and your broken goons run and never talk to me, Jordan, or the girls again. Or two: I break your other arm, and you have to pay a hospital bill.
Chris: O-Other arm?
Alex: Yup.
Alex then punched Chris' elbow, causing it to bend in a very bad way and causing him to scream at the top of his lungs.
Alex: Now, Chris, what will it be?
Chris, who was in tears, looked up at Alex with fear in his eyes.
Chris: I won't talk to them! Promise!
Alex: Good. Now leave.
Chris started to run, followed by his goons, as fast as they could while in pain.
Alex sighed before turning around and seeing both Aurora and Mina there, both shocked.
Alex: Uh...I can explain?
Aurora: How did you...
Mina: You really hurt them...
Alex: I, uh, trained in martial arts since I was young; I didn't think I used that much force, though.
Alex lied.
Aurora: Well...at least they won't be messing with us anymore.
Mina: Yeah...although I kind of want to go home now.
Alex: Alright... I'm sorry if I scared you.
Mina: It's alright; you didn't scare me; I just need to process things.
Alex: Okay...
Alex was upset that he seemed to scare both the girls; that was the last thing he wanted.
Aurora: Alex, you didn't scare her or me. We appreciate what you did. Especially me. I wanted him to leave me alone for years, and now he finally got what he deserved. Thank you.
Aurora smiled before giving Alex a kiss on the cheek, leaving a blush on her face. Then the two girls both left together, leaving Alex alone.
Alex: That was...suprising.
Alex put a hand on his cheek, where Aurora kissed, before shaking his head.
Alex: I guess I'll head back home.
*Elsewhere*
Soon, a bus had arrived in the town of Redfall. Exiting was a girl with long silver hair and blue eyes, along with a boy with brownish-red hair and red eyes.
Lena: We're here...
Issen: Now we just have to find him.
Lena: Yeah...that's going to be the problem, and we only have a week to do so.
Issen: Let's get looking.
Lena: Alex, we're coming!
