Rory finished her exams in just 30 minutes. everyone was shocked beyond words. even the teacher couldn't help but ask if she answered all the questions.
As she was the first person to finish her exams,she left the class and roamed around the school,with nothing to do.
She had a chat with the lunch lady,janitor and security guard.
After that she talked to Daniel and her inquired about her exams. She said she was done but she didn't mention the span of time she used to finish it. she just couldn't risk it.
With that,she sat under a large tree and watched as how birds were flying into the school. it was afternoon and the sun was shining brightly. Sitting down there,she looked like a sculpture and that she belonged there.
She was so fired that she was about to doze off.
"Rory?"
She heard a voice call out her name and her eyes which were shut,opened revealing a pair of dark blue eyes.
"What do you want Malcom?" She asked with her brows furrowed. she hated being disturbed while sleeping and he clearly knew that, yet he still went ahead to do the one thing she resented.
"Did I disturb you?" he asked with concern filled in his tone.
"What do you think?" she replied sarcastically.
He pursed his lips but didn't say anything.
"Why are you here?" Rory asked.
"Rory we need to talk"
"Talk about what? Haven't I made myself clear?" her tone was firm and rigid. But,because of her facial features it didn't really give off the vibe it was meant to.
"Look I know wronged you,by not telling you the truth that I already knew your identity and..." His voice trailed off.
"And what Malcolm? Cat got your tongue?"
Malcolm and Rory were besties and they called each other boyfriend and girlfriend. Malcolm's family were very good friends with the Devane family. So when he came to visit one day,he met Rory and they became good partners in crime.
After being abused and deprived of her life,she finally found a friend. However,she couldn't tell anyone her identity,so she thought Malcom didn't know.
Which was infact untrue. At first she was angry but they made up. Just few days after that, Malcolm was found rolling in bed with her half sister,Sammy.
That day was when her world came crashing down and any hope of survival was brutally murdered.
She didn't have feelings for Malcom but he was her bestie and it's not like he was oblivious to the way they treated her. she was a maid in her own home. the least he could have done was have the decency to tell he that he loved Sammy. but what did he go and do? he went ahead to betray her.
Now he was here apologising?
What did he take her for? A fool?
"I know I did something unbelievable! but please can't you find it in your heart to forgive me? for the sake of our friendship all these years,forgive me!" he pleaded so sincerely. you could see the sincerity in his brown eyes.
Rory couldn't help but reconsider. Should she really forgive him? I mean he was her bestie for so many years.
Seeing that she didn't respond,he took that as a yes.
"You forgive me don't you?"It was more of a confirmation than a question.
She sighed and nodded.
"But Sammy is now your girlfriend. If the both of us have a falling out,you would have to pick."She reminded him. That was indeed true. In the course of her revenge,being the boyfriend of her enemy,would mean that he has to take her side.
Rory had forgiven him. However,if he stood in the way of her revenge just to support,his "girlfriend",She won't make any promises not to destroy the both of them.
She wasn't wicked but as they say,a wounded lion is more dangerous.
"I never loved Sammy and I will never. It was just because of that one incident. We grew up the together and no matter what I will support you." He said reassuringly.
Rory chuckled.
She hooked her arm in his and playfully said,"my lunch is on you"
Malcolm groaned and pouted his lips.
"You eat like there's no tomorrow. I am starting to wonder why you don't have similarities to a hippo"
"That's because I have a perfect figure" She replied.
"Of course,your majesty". He joked.
They went arm in arm back into the main campus.
Malcolm and Rory were in different classes,so they went to their classes,for the the next paper.
The next paper was Maths,so everyone was more tensed than before. Rory stepped into the class and walked into her seats under everyone's curious gazes.
She ignored them at first but they still continued to sneak glances at her.
"If you have something to say,just say it. Don't stare at me like I am an alien"She finally spoke up.
Hearing that,everyone immediately flocked to her table and started questioning her.
"How did you finish so fast?"
"Was the exam that simple?"
"Or have u seen the questions before now?"A student asked.
Another student hit his head and refuted him.
"Are you dumb or what? How can you say that about our goddess?"
Facing such words and everyone's unkind gazes,the person shut his mouth.
After that was solved,they went back to pester Rory again.
"So tell us,how did you do it?"
"Guys"She felt a headache coming on.
"This exam was really hard"
"Even Terrence finished few minutes before the time elapsed"
"Not only Terrence but almost all the A student finished late"
"Guys"
"They even complained about the exam being so hard"
"Yeah I know"
"Guys!"Rory yelled and the whole class fell silent.
"Thank you"She sighed in relief.
"Don't you see that you guys are making her feel uncomfortable". Blaire scolded them.
They all mouthed sorry and seeing their disappointed faces,Rory felt bad.
"If you want,I can teach you"Rory thought out loud.
Everyone stopped in their tracks and turned to looks at her.
"Really?"Terrence asked in askance. Someone who has never gone to school,was willing to teach them. That was hard to believe.
He too knew he did badly on the test. Even the best students all grumbled that the test was super tough. The least anyone could score was a B+. But he was willing to give her the benefit of the doubt.
She did help him once.
