Chereads / The CEO’s Over-pampered Wife / Chapter 24 - HER GOAL

Chapter 24 - HER GOAL

Well, Kay had something important to do so she left on time. Leaving Rory alone at the restaurant.

She sighed and just ate.

She was eating when a figure hovered around her. She looked up to see an old man smile at her.

He wasn't that old. He seemed young for his age. He had a few strands of white hair. Little wrinkles and black eyes that shone so brightly.

"Do you need anything, sir?"She asked politely.

"No, no. I saw you eating and wanted to ask how you are doing. When I went back to visit you in the hospital, the doctor said you he already been discharged."

Doctor? Hospital? Discharged? Was he talking about the accident she was in? But no one knew about it, not even Daniel, so how did he know? She had even forgotten about the accident.

"Sir how did you-"

"Well, you don't remember. I was the one who hit you with my car."He looked guilty.

Now it all made sense.

"You don't have to feel guilty. No hard feelings."She smiled at him. That smile warmed his heart.

She didn't hate the man at all. She felt grateful to him. If he hadn't hit her, Sammy wouldn't have sent people after her and she would not have found out about their evil intentions and wanted to get revenge or get married to Daniel. So it was more of a blessing.

"Hmmm. But did you receive the card I gave you?"

The card! She forgot about the card.

She scratched her nonitchy head.

"Sir, would you like to take a seat?"She immediately changed the topic.

"Sure! Please don't call me sir. It's too formal, call me Grandpa instead."

Grandpa? It sounded weird to her.

"Ok... Grandpa"It was weird but she still managed to call him Grandpa.

The both of them had a nice time.

They had so much to talk about.

The old man liked her company. In no time, they bonded.

He even asked her out for a meal.

"How about you come to my place for a meal?"

"That sounds great Grandpa Marcez. When?" She sounded so delighted.

"Maybe this Friday, for dinner of course"

She nodded. It was going to be so much fun.

They saved each other's contact.

When they were done with eating, Rory paid the bill, but after she persuaded Grandpa Marcez.

They waved goodbye to each other and got into their respective cars.

They drove off.

Rory went back home.

She went back to her room. She was bored to death.

She chatted on her phone, played games, and did so many other things.

Not knowing what to do, she took her sketch pad and sat down at her small office desk, beside the bed.

She started to draw.

Her mind took her to places and fell right into a place of her imagination.

The painting had been one of Rory's talents. She loved to draw. It was something that made her feel happy. The first time she drew, she drew a bird flying.

The bird was her. She dreamt so much about the day she'd be able to feel the fresh breeze. She had been so occupied with her thoughts of revenge that she had forgotten what she wished for.

To see the sunset, have a tour of the city, and do so many awesome things. She wanted to make a name for herself. She wanted to make her parents regret choosing Sammy over her.

That was going to be tough but she knew if she could get revenge on the Devane she'd be able to do whatever she wanted.

Her mother was a great actress but quit at an early age and ran her grandfather's business. Then she got married to her father out of love. Just a few months into their marriage, her father convinced her to let him run the company and become a full housewife.

Love is truly blind. Her mother, Andrea naturally obliged. Andrea was just in her early 20s and already was so successful. She was a household name.

However, she stayed at home for so long that she faded away in everyone's memories.

That was the sad fact about it all. After doing so much for her father he got a new wife, a few days after her death.

All these while she remained faithful to her husband only to be betrayed by him after death. She wasn't even sure that their marriage was as blissful as everyone made it out to be.

Thinking this, she looked at her painting in satisfaction. It was just something simple; a quail feather.

On the contrary, the painting was extremely beautiful and lovely. It highlighted the majestical features of the feather.

People rarely use it nowadays.

Aurora was awed at her drawing. She felt like having all her drawings put in a place and let people marvel at the beauty of art.

Brilliant! She had an idea!

She rushed out of the room to find Butler Zoe.

"Zoe! Zoe! Zoe!"She called out almost out of breath.

Butler Zoe turned around to see Aurora panting with her hands on her knees.

"Good gracious Rory!"He immediately dropped the watering can he was holding to water the plants in the garden and rushed towards the house.

He came back shortly after and handed her a glass of water to drink.

She gulped the whole glass.

"Better?"

"Yes."

He collected the glass from her and asked, "What was so important that you ran over here?"

The house was extremely big, too big was even an understatement.

She laughed sheepishly.

"I wanted to know if there's an empty room in the house?"

"If that's what you wanted to know, you should have just called me. No need to run over here. And yes! There's a lot of room in the house!"

"Really?"Her eyes lit up hearing his reply.

"But why do you ask, Rory?"

"Well, I want to have my art studio so I need a room. Then I will open a place where people can see my artwork and sell it for a high price!"Her voice sounded excited as she said this.
