She left her table unattended to and carried her bag and ran quickly bumping into someone..,It was Sam.
It looked like he was going back to see Ryan, but right now he stared at her worriedly as tears streamed down her eyelids.
I..I need..to go to the hospital quickly?, Emma said struggling as she wanted to go.
I'll drive you,He suggested and she nodded.
They reached the hospital and she sprinted out to find the room her sister told her to go to.
She met her sister looking inside while crying.
Abbie,she called out.
Emma, she replied and ran to hug her.
I don't... know,..she was fine one minute and then this..,Abbie explained as she continued to cry.
Don't cry okay.,mom will be fine, Emma tried to calm her sister down but she was worried sick.
Few hours passed and the doctor came out.
Doctor what's wrong with our mom?,Emma asked hopefully but the doctor didn't look like he had good news.
Sam who didn't leave after dropping her at the hospital moved closer to hear what the doctor would say.
Well the patient has a brain tumor,The doctor said and Emma stumbled backwards but thankfully Sam helped her.
That's not possible..,she was just fine..right tell her Abbie,Emma said but Abbie silently cried not saying anything.
Abbie tell him mom is fine, how is that possible, Emma who couldn't hold her tears in began to cry.
Mom had..been struggling with this disease for a while..,We..we thought it was going so she didn't tell you so you wouldn't worry, Abbie said.
So you knew about this..Mom has a freaking tumor in her brain and you didn't see it fit to tell me..,Are you insane?, Emma hissed and walked away.
Emma stood at the balcony as the cold breeze blew on her hair, she felt someone behind her and turned around.
You're still here...,
I appreciate that you brought me here but you don't have to be here, it's fine,Emma said to Sam and turned forward.
He hadn't responded yet but stood beside her.."you act like you're alright but you're not",He said and Emma stared at him then looked away.
I can help w..with your mother's treatment, apparently the doctor's here aren't of much help so I filled the paperwork to move her to a much better hospital,He added.
You'd do that..,but the treatment is going to be expensive,Emma inquired and he smiled.
It's no big deal..
So..what do you want in return..,She asked and He raised his brow at her.
I mean we met for the first time today and all of a sudden you wanna help pay my mom's hospital bills? What's your catch..,Emma asked as she was sure he had a motive.
Actually..yes
I knew it,..Like I said earlier thank you for your help but I can't sell my body to you for money,Emma said.
Woah.. woah you jumped into conclusion quickly,I just want to get to know you, Sam said.
You seemed really cool and I kinda admire you so it wouldn't hurt to get to know you,He added.
Um okay then .,but no funny business,Emma said and Sam smiled.
Sure,of course..

Ryan was almost done with work and need the report for the day,he called Emma's table but no reply,That was strange.
He went out of his office and approached her's,not only wasn't she there but it was also messed up unlike her.
Should he call her..,That would be unprofessional.., He'd just see her at work tomorrow.
He went home but couldn't stop contemplating if he should call her or not..,She could actually be in trouble.

Emma and her younger sister Abbie with Sam stood outside the hospital room, her heart heavy with a mix of gratitude and sorrow. The new hospital was a significant improvement from the previous one; it was clean, modern, and bustling with attentive medical staff. Yet, the sight of her mother lying in the hospital bed, hooked up to various machines, brought a lump to her throat.
Sam stood beside her, his presence a comforting anchor in the storm of emotions swirling within her. He had been a rock through this ordeal, helping to navigate the bureaucracy of transferring her mother and ensuring she received the best care possible.
"You did everything you could," Sam said softly, sensing her turmoil. "She's in good hands now."
Emma nodded, though her eyes remained fixed on her mother's frail form. "I know. It's just... seeing her like this. It's hard."
Sam placed a reassuring hand on her shoulder. "She's strong, Emma. And so are you. She'll get through this."
They stood in silence for a few moments, watching the rhythmic rise and fall of her mother's chest. The hum of machines and the distant sounds of hospital activity filled the room, a constant reminder of the fragility of life.
"Thank you, Sam," Emma finally said, turning to face him. "For everything. I don't know what I would have done without you."
Sam smiled, though his eyes were filled with concern. "You don't have to thank me. I'm just glad I could help."
By the way we're friends now right?,And friends help friends,He added.
Emma looked back at her mother, a new determination forming within her. "I just want her to get better. That's all that matters."
"And she will," Sam assured her. "With the right treatment and a bit of time, she'll be back on her feet."
Emma took a deep breath, trying to steady her emotions. "I hope so."
Sam squeezed her shoulder gently. "How about we go get some coffee? You need to take care of yourself too."
Emma hesitated, glancing back at her mother, but she knew Sam was right. She needed to stay strong, not just for her mother, but for herself as well.
"Okay," she agreed. "But just a quick one."
They walked to the hospital cafeteria, where the sterile smell of disinfectant was replaced by the rich aroma of freshly brewed coffee. Sam ordered for both of them, and they found a quiet corner to sit.
"How are you holding up?" Sam asked, handing her a cup.
Emma took a sip, savoring the warmth. "I'm trying to stay positive. It's just... hard to see her like that."
Sam nodded. "I understand. But remember, this is just a part of the journey. She's in a much better place now, and that's a huge step forward."
And also I know that I don't have any say in this, but you have to forgive your sister,Sam said and Emma looked at him.
