Waking up early,her usual time..,she noticed she was alone in the room and got up to get ready for work.

She was preparing to go down when her phone rang,it was Ana..She forgot to call her, immediately she picked up the phone.
Emma where have you been,I was so worried..,I called your office and they said you left early but when I returned I didn't see you at home.. Are you okay...?Say something will you,Ana expressed her concern over the phone and Emma couldn't help but smile.
Am..doing good Ana, don't worry about me..I just.. had things to take care of so I won't be back for a while,Emma explained but Ana still felt sus.

Emma went downstairs and saw Jake cooking,Howncoukd he act like everything was alright when he legit kidnapped her but still gave her freedom.

Emma went to work down and drained of the motivation to continue, her movements slow and deliberate. The usual spring in her step was absent, replaced by a heavy, subdued demeanor. Her thoughts were still tangled with the distressing encounter with Jake,Him kidnapping her,If she had it her way she woukd have probably reported it to the police or anyone but Jake would harm her mother.
She tried to push those thoughts aside, but they weighed heavily on her mind.
As the hours ticked by, Emma found herself struggling to concentrate. She went through the motions, completing her tasks mechanically. By mid-morning, it was time to report the files she had been working on to Ryan.
She knocked on his office door lightly before entering. Ryan looked up from his desk, his sharp eyes immediately noticing the change in her demeanor. Emma walked over to his desk and handed him the files, her gaze avoiding his.
"Here are the reports you asked for," she said quietly, her voice lacking its usual enthusiasm.
Ryan took the files, but his focus remained on Emma. "Thank you, Emma," he said, his tone gentle. "How are you feeling today?"
Emma forced a smile, but it didn't reach her eyes. "I'm fine, just a bit tired."
Ryan's brow furrowed in concern. He had noticed her acting unusually quiet since she arrived. This wasn't the energetic, dedicated Emma he knew. "You've been through a lot lately," he said softly. "Are you sure you're ready to be back at work?"
Emma hesitated, her mind racing. She didn't want to seem weak or incapable, but she also couldn't deny the overwhelming fatigue and stress she was feeling due to Jake. "Am good,I can handle it".
Ryan nodded, his expression understanding. "It's okay to need more time to recover, Emma. You've been dealing with a lot. Why don't you take the rest of the day off? Get some rest."
Emma looked at him, grateful for his kindness and understanding. "Thank you, Ryan. But am fine,I came to work and I can't let my personal life interfere with my work."
She did actually want to go home but now that Jake has moved few of her things to his house,it was obvious he wanted her to stay...Dud she really have a choice?!.
I'll go back to work,if there isn't anything else,Emma said respectfully and walked out of the office.

He didn't know he had been to invested in her life,previous tried to find where she finished highschool,then he proceeded to find out who she had dated cuz he could tell she was single now.
