Chapter 4 - CHAPTER FOUR

Thirty minutes after four, Mr. Cooper arrived with Lily. Noah had quickly locked the door, and had cleared every dirt Mr. Cooper wouldn't want to see, and anything that would make the man know Noah had a visitor while he left.

It was Lily's voice that Noah heard that made him know they both were back. He quickly rushed up to the door, sneezed due to his haste, and unlocked the door for them.

Noah blinked his eyes for what he saw. He got the bags from Mr. Cooper's hands, and was attracted by Lily's new look. She appeared more beautiful, and her hair changed — it seemed she visited the salon while she journeyed with her Dad. "Lily, woohoo!" Noah exclaimed, directly appreciating and adoring Lily's hairstyle.

Lily shrugged, but smiled and winked at Noah to see him in her room. There was a symbol Lily made with her fingers, whenever she wanted him to see her.

Mr. Cooper peered at the both of them, laughed and sat down in the sitting room. Noah was annoyed, because the refrigerator was close by, and he wanted to take another drink, but the man would complain.

"Welcome, Mr. Cooper." Noah greeted him, scratching his own hair with his hands, not knowing which way he should ask for a drink. "How was the long walk with Lily?"

"We didn't walk. Lily's driving was indeed stressful though…" Mr. Cooper replied calmly, to Noah's surprise. "But, I honestly had a nice day with my beautiful and rich… daughter."

Noah bent his head, discouraged to hear and notice how rich Mr. Cooper emphasised his daughter was; he knew the man said that to his own expense. "Sincerely, she looks more beautiful. Did she visit the salon; the best salon?"

Taken aback by how intelligently Noah snubbed his indirect mockery of him, Mr. Cooper sneezed. He coughed and asked him to go into his room. "There is something special about the house today… I bought us ketchup; we got some pizzas too."

"Oh!" Noah exclaimed, giving a dull smile. "I know Lily must have also gotten some orange juice, as well. But, didn't she follow you to the store, sir?"

"She didn't — she dropped me at the store, while she drove herself to the salon," Mr. Cooper responded, yawning loudly. "I called her after that to pick me up."

"Alright, sir." Noah said. "I think you have to take a rest now; what about a shower, I suggest?"

"Don't bother…" Mr. Cooper shunned him, wondering why Noah suddenly cared that much for him. "Well, you can have a drink from the refrigerator, and bring me one too."

"Okay, Mr. Cooper!" Noah answered and brought him the drink. "I am still working on the job, sir."

"Talk with Lily on that." Mr. Cooper returned abruptly, stretching his hand to the remote to resume his horror movie.

Noah walked away without a second thought. The chance to discuss that with Lily would give both of them another good time together. He smiled, as he stalked to her room and shook the doorbell.

"Noah, or Dad?" Lily asked, hurrying to cover her chest, as she was already undressed.

"It's Noah, your hus… band-to…-be!" Noah whimpered, complementing his statement with a shout. "Open the door, my beautiful angel!"

"Alright dear, I'll be right there." Lily replied happily, hanging her top shirt on her shoulders and hurrying to the door. "Come in, Noah."

"Thank you." Noah appreciated her, as he came in, walking from his back to avoid seeing any part of her uncovered body.

"Stop it!" Lily charged him, dragging him to a chair. "Sincerely, I am wearing clothes."

"Better then." Noah remarked, as he held his hands up for innocency, turned to Lily, looking at her face as he smiled.

"How about…" Lily started a discussion, but was paused by Noah's rather suspicious view of her.

"Beautiful!" He remarked on her beauty, his face surveying her hair. "Lily, I like your hairstyle…"

"Aww." Lily reciprocated, returning a deep and friendly smile. "Thank you so much, dear. I guess we can talk about your job now."

"Oh, yes!" Noah responded rapidly, folding his hands showing seriousness. "I have gone out on many occasions, asked for where I could work, but only rejections came my way…"

"Rest assured, Noah." Lily calmed him down. "Don't you mind working with either Beltons, or Tradicion Stores?"

"I would love to…" Noah replied happily, then suddenly changed his mood as his face marked self-pity. "But, Mr. Cooper keeps saying I cannot work in such big places."

"He tells you that always?" Lily questioned him, almost frowning, shifting her forehead to Noah's side. "Do you mean what you said?"

"I am sincere, Lily…" Noah replied, conscious of Mr. Cooper's strange moves or overhearing. "I hope I am not showing him in a bad way though." He shrugged and continued. "Whatever! I just hope the world comes to my hand, so I can take you as my wife when the gold and silver have been made available and accessible to me…"

Lily smiled, and hugged Noah. "I love you so much. I respect your passion to work and be responsible."

"If Bluesky accepts my application…" Noah continued, happily wishing to do what he had intended for Lily concerning their marriage. "I will make you the richest Queen in New York. Mark my words with sincerity."

"And, I will be happy to be that Queen Lily!" She responded heartily, smiling.

"Don't worry." Noah assured her. "Our dreams will come true. I'll get a job, make money, invest and be one of the top richest in the whole of America."

"When a strong man gets gold, his spouse is always well known…" Lily quoted, looking around to know if Noah accepted it as a truth. "Or, isn't that true?"

"It is a fact!" Noah said, and suddenly shook his head. "Lily, I'll be going out now. I want to see someone outside. I promise, it won't take long at all."

"Alright dear." Lily responded, and hugged him. "See you later."
