Lucia's hands trembled slightly as she stepped out of the office, the echo of Tynan's voice defending her against Adam still fresh in her mind.
"You should have thought of that before you laid a hand on something that belongs to me,"
"Lucia," he said simply. "She belongs to us. And you touched her."
"She's not my girlfriend, but she's mine. Ours. And you crossed a line."
"I don't care what you meant," Tynan interrupted, his voice cold. "Get the hell out of here before I decide to break your hand for what you did."
She leaned against the cold wall, heart pounding.
She couldn't believe what she had just heard. Tynan, the very man who had tormented her for weeks, the one who had led her through countless humiliations, had spoken up for her—albeit in his own twisted way.
She exhaled slowly, trying to make sense of it all.
