Chapter 18 - ALL I KNOW

"Who says I'm trying to annoy you? For all I know, I'm just doing a late-night study. You're the one who wants to get annoyed," Quinn stated, his voice smooth but with a hint of amusement. With that, he got up and left, leaving Shana speechless in the library's stillness.

It didn't take long for her to drift into sleep, the book she had been reading lying forgotten on the table. In the quiet of the library, a figure materialized beside her. He watched her sleeping form for a moment, a mixture of curiosity and concern in his eyes. With a gentle touch, he lifted her in his arms and carried her back to her room, a shadow slipping through the darkness.

The next day, Shana woke, her mind foggy with confusion. How had she ended up back in her room? Was she sleepwalking? The clock's numbers flashed at her, indicating she was almost late for her first day of training. Panic surged through her as she hastily freshened up and dashed off to the training room.

As she hurried through the halls, she collided with Nova, Ashley, and Astrid, the impact causing her to stumble. "Oh my God! Are you blind?" Nova's voice cut through the air, laced with annoyance.

"I'm so sorry," Shana apologized, trying to gather her wits. "You see, I'm new here and I'm kinda..."

"So, you're the new girl everyone's been talking about," Astrid remarked, her tone dripping with skepticism.

"What does the agency take us for, bringing a low-grade recruit to work with?" Ashley's disdain was evident.

"Look, I said I'm sorry, no need to make a scene," Shana retorted, her frustration mounting.

"Is there a problem, ladies?" Quinn's voice rang out, drawing their attention.

Shana turned to see Quinn standing there, his expression calm yet commanding. "Ugh, could this day get any worse?" she thought to herself, her irritation simmering.

"No, Quinn, everything is fine. I was just telling our new recruit here to watch where she's going next time," Nova explained, trying to diffuse the tension.

Quinn turned his gaze to Shana, his eyes piercing. "Aren't you late for class?" he asked, his tone teasing yet authoritative.

Shana walked past him, ignoring his presence.
