Chapter 21 - A TRUSTED MESSAGE

The room fell silent as Lucian began to speak. "This isn't a combat mission," he announced, "but it is crucial. We've received a message from one of our most trusted allies."

Curiosity piqued, the group leaned in to listen. Lucian continued, "The message comes from the Silverwood Coven, run by Seraphina. We've worked closely with them for years, and their intel has always been reliable."

He paused, looking over the assembled members. "According to the message, rogue witches who have allied themselves with vampires and werewolves are planning something significant. The details are vague, but the coven has requested our presence."

Lucian's eyes scanned the room. "I won't need all of you for this mission. I'm taking Luke, Nova, Quinn, Cassie, and Shana."

Shana's eyes widened in surprise, her stomach tightening with a mix of nerves and reluctance. She wasn't thrilled about being chosen, especially for a mission that involved witches, vampires, and werewolves.

Nova, standing at the back, crossed her arms and scowled. The idea of Shana joining them clearly didn't sit well with her, but she saw it as an opportunity to prove that Shana didn't belong here. Her competitive nature flared, and she vowed to show Shana up at every turn.

Quinn, on the other hand, smirked with a hint of amusement. The dynamic between Shana and Nova promised to be entertaining, and he was more than ready to witness it firsthand.

As the group gathered their gear, Shana approached Lucian, unable to hide her concern. "Are you sure I'm ready for this?" she asked quietly.

Lucian gave her a reassuring nod. "You've got potential, Shana. This mission is as much about learning and observing as it is about acting. Trust yourself."

With those words, they set off, leaving the headquarters behind. The journey to the Silverwood Coven was a mixture of tense silence and quiet conversation, each member of the team lost in their thoughts.

The Silverwood Coven's territory was a place of haunting beauty, nestled deep within a dense forest. The air was thick with the scent of pine and earth, and the trees loomed like ancient guardians. As they approached the coven's enclave, Seraphina emerged to greet them.

Tall and ethereal, with long, flowing silver hair and eyes that seemed to hold the wisdom of centuries, Seraphina commanded respect with her mere presence. She smiled warmly at Lucian and his team. "Thank you for coming so swiftly," she said, her voice like a gentle breeze.

Lucian nodded in acknowledgment. "We received your message. What's the situation?"

Seraphina's expression grew serious. "Rogue witches have been spotted in the northern part of our territory. They've been meeting with vampires and werewolves. We believe they're planning an attack, but we don't know when or where."
