A woman with black hair, red eyes, and beautiful red patterns decorating her curvaceous body stood in the center of a pile of monster corpses. She had just killed the last monster of the day and looked around to see how many she had slain this time. Killing monsters was her hobby, a gruesome competition with herself to surpass the previous tally. As she surveyed the scene, a scary smile spread across her face, a smile that craved more bloodshed.
Just as she was ready to continue her bloodbath, a woman with white hair and red eyes, adorned with the same patterns on her body, approached her. Sensing her presence, the black-haired woman planted her bloodstained sword into the ground and stood still.
The white-haired woman spoke, "What is it, my daughter Brielle? Why did you come here?"
Brielle bowed slightly, "Greetings, Mother Ker. I received a letter from Duke Walter's house, so I came to inform you."
Ker, the mother, was taken aback by the mention of that name. She hadn't heard it in a century, not since she had separated from her family. Memories flooded back as she looked at her daughter and demanded, "Give me that letter."
Brielle handed over the letter. Ker peeled off the stamp and began to read:
"Hey there, Ker. How are you doing these days? It's me, Walter. I wanted to call, but I know there's no phone service where you live, so I wrote this letter instead. The main reason I'm writing is to ask you to return a favor. I helped you out back then, and now I need you to come to my place to discuss the matter. Goodbye, Walter."
As Ker read the letter, fury welled up inside her. It wasn't the letter itself that angered her, but the casual tone and the audacity of Walter. He had used her to make enemies with her family, presenting his assistance as a favor to be repaid later. She had been young and free-spirited, loving war and strong opponents, and had accepted his help without realizing his manipulative plan. Now, older and wiser, she understood the trap she had fallen into.
Burning the letter, she picked up her sword and placed it in her space ring, then started to move. Brielle, curious, asked, "Mother, who is it? Why are you so angry? Did the letter say something bothersome?"
Ker stopped and looked at her daughter. "Nothing special. It's just an old friend who used me for his purposes in the name of help. He wants something back now, so I am going to see him."
Brielle was shocked to learn her mother had been used. Ker was known as the War Blood Goddess; her presence in battle turned the battlefield into a river of blood. "Who is it, Mother?" she asked.
With a tone of disdain, Ker replied, "It's Duke Walter. Did you forget you were the one who gave me that letter moments ago?" She lightly tapped Brielle's head.
Brielle, not wanting to accept her mistake, retorted, "Duke Walter? As I know, he's just a sword master, pretty good at it, but I don't think he could control you, Mom. I thought someone like the King of Ramjuresh would do something like that, but Duke Walter? I don't understand, Mother."
Ker smiled and said, "Don't talk back like that. Don't worry too much, my daughter. When you grow up and experience life, you will understand." She then turned and walked away.
As Ker entered her living quarters, she ordered her servants to prepare for teleportation to Duke Walter's house. Brielle, following her mother, noticed she was still in her battlefield attire and stopped her. "Mother, stop. Going like that, you are a leader of an entire universe you rule. If you go like this, your reputation will be ruined."
Ker, with a carefree voice, replied, "Don't worry, Brielle. Walter and I were close friends and battlefield blood lovers. He won't mind if I go like this."
Brielle understood her mother didn't want to dress up and was just making excuses. Ker loved blood and always ensured a drop remained on her body, crazy as she was. Still, Brielle insisted, "No, Mother. If you do not want to dress up, at least clean yourself first."
Ker, not wanting to listen, told her servants to prepare the teleportation device quickly. Although Brielle did her best to convince her mother, she eventually gave up, knowing Ker's final decision would prevail.
As the teleportation device was completed, Ker stood on it. Brielle, who didn't have much to do at home and was curious to meet the man who had controlled her mother, asked, "Mother, can I come with you?"
Ker, with no problem, said, "Yes, you can come."
Together, they prepared for the journey to Duke Walter's house.
