Chapter 16 - Chapter 15

The police officer arrived to the location with his team. It was an abandoned warehouse.

It was dark outside by the time they got there so they all geared up. He knew he couldn't completely trust the kidnapper so he made sure to have his gun out.

They walked in through the door and as expected it was pitch black. The officer immediately signaled for them to split up. They needed to find the boy fast, time was of the essence.

After a few hours they had no progress. The officer was about to call the search off when he came across this small room. He wouldn't even know it was there if he hadn't heard a small noise coming from inside.

The officer immediately walkied his team to come over. In just a few mintues they all came to where the officer was.

The officer held his gun and flashlight and slowly opened the door. Inside the room was a small little boy with a long diagonal cut on his chest and small cuts on his hand.

If they had waited a few more days his wounds would've started rotting. It already showed signs of infection.

The boy was sitting on the ground tightly holding a rusty knife that he probably found laying around. Just by looking you could tell his grip on the knife was tight yet his eyes were closed.

The officer slowly walked towards the little boy. When he got closer he flinched in pain. He looked down and saw the little boys eyes open and starting at him warily.

He backed away and gave the boy some space before speaking. "Hello I'm officer Shipley and these are my colleagues. We already have the kidnappers and they're going to jail. Just come with us, we have an ambulance on the way. Don't worry, youre safe now."

The little boy let go of the knife and nodded. The little boy collapsed on the floor. Officer Shipley hurried over and picked the boy up. They all immediately went to find the exit out of the warehouse.

After exiting they saw the ambulance outside awaiting their arrival. Officer Shipley gave the ambulance the little boy and stay with him in the back.

On the way to the hospital officer Shipley could feel the littles boys tight grip on his hand. He felt distressed thinking about what the boy could've went through. He was more determined than ever to throw the kidnappers in jail.

A few weeks fly by and the little boy was still in a coma. Officer Shipley managed to find out the boys parents from the missing kids reports. He visits the little boy at the hospital every other day hoping he would open his eyes.

Officer Shipley managed to gain a close relationship to the boys parents these past few weeks. They all wanted the little boy to wake up. The doctor said everything was fine. Luckily he came when he did, if he came even a little later it would've even harder to try to save him.

The injuries the little boy came in with were already fatal but he still had a high percentage of survival. The later they brought him the lower the percentage would be.

Officer Shipley got off work early today so he bought more flowers and headed towards the hospital. He went towards the little boys room and opened the door.

His steps halted and a shock look appeared on his face. "Ka-Kameron... You're awake!" Officer Shipley blurted in shock.

He looked to the side and saw Kamerons parents with a happy yet grim expression. He knew something was wrong. He shifted his gaze back to Kameron. Kameron had a confused expression on.

"Officer Shipley, the doctors said that he has amnesia. He can't remember anyone or anything that happened to him. Which I think is for the best, I can't imagine what my baby went through." Kamerons mom said while tearing up. She tried hard to fight her tears but just the thought of what they did to her little boy makes her cry.

Officer Shipley immediately put on a smile to calm Kamerons mom. "Mrs. And Mr. Wong, everything will be okay. Kameron will get through this. I know some counselors that can help."

Kameron looked at the people in front of him. He trusted what they said when they told him they were his parents because he felt familiar with them. But he always has this feeling like hes forgetting something or someone. Everytime he tries to remember his head hurts so he stopped trying.

A month later Kameron was officially discharged from the hospital and it was safe for him to go to school again. He could finally live a normally life again.
