Chapter 21 - At The Presence Of Status

Chad 63B4 and Race 0A1 smoothly walked a path towards a great golden door meters in front.

Behind them stood two men, their faces scrunched with horror and disgust at the mere sight of the men, but it didn't last long as both lads eventually disappeared into the room in front.

Greeted by a purple darkness, Chad 63B4 and Race 0A1 stood before a circular surrounding of high thrones.

But while one of the men looked up towards the seated elders, the other gazed around, lost in the darkness.

But before they'd laid a single breath in the room, a shriek reverberated into the air, exuding from the lips of the elders whose faces creased with disgust.

"Such an ugly being."

"His face sully our eyes."

The voices of the elders damaged the silence of the room, their words all transcended at a fair-skinned boy standing beside Chad 63B4.

"What is your name." One of the elders managed to hold her dangerous reputation, Yvonne'Pil, who quickly relayed the name of the boy.

"Race 0A1!"

The voice of the stunning elder quickly pierced the silence, her face almost turning purple as she glared at the latter, "RACE 0A1, get out of here!"

Race 0A1 gazed at the entities before him, his legs shivering at the sight of their heavy gaze that burned with disgust.

They were a stunning circle of elders, their skin glowing like wildfire under the dim light, and their faces that although deterred with a frown displayed an exquisite composition of perfectionism.

He scurried out of the room with goosebumps over his skin, and his face flushed with a tint of red.

From the lips of the Luxols, he had been portrayed as an entity of immense ugliness, a contrast to his view amongst humankind.

The conversation between Chad 63B4 and the circle of Brass Elders began immediately.

Ed'Scot, his voice fueled with enthusiasm - though composed and elegant was the first to speak,

"And the Tonic?"

His eyes darted at the lad, as with the other elders.

Chad 63B4 glared at the male and female forms of the elders, after which he unhooked a pale bottle filled with red liquid from his belt.

Quickly, the item rose from the palms of Chad 63B4.

At that moment, the four elders had their eyes fixed on the bottle which emitted a faint radiance.

From the enhanced sensitivity of their nostrils, they inhaled the glee scent of the liquid filled in the bottle.

Its liquid was lightly layered in its texture, consistently leaking fumes that scented like a garden of daisies with nectar of sunflowers.

"The boy! Race 0A1."

Le'Brix laundered her words once her gaze turned from the hovering bottle of red tonic, "Is he a student?"

"Yes..."

"Then why is he with you - as an apprentice." She flared up at the next second, her blue trimmed nail denting the hard case of her throne armrest.

"If you surely had done the job right," Pro'Tobias added with a stiffened gaze and tone, "he would have known he wouldn't last long."

"Or did you spare him? Outside our instructions."

As the Brass Elders continuously bombarded Chad 63B4 with questions, the latter had his mind could only care less about their speech, instead, his heart racing at the fairest of them, her eyes fixed on him as if she tried to look into his soul.

"N-no!" Chad 63B4 finally answered underneath a film of sweat that gathered on his forehead,

"He ran away from his group and stumbled on me after an incident with the source."

"Is that why he's stained with blood?"

Logan nodded at Le'Brix's words.

"Do you realize your actions were a perfect depiction of humanity's lagging thoughts!"

An elder amongst the circle finally spoke, her enchanting gaze only fixed upon the human before them.

Yvonne'Pil could be said to be a gemstone amongst a bundle of rocks.

The power she exuded surpassed her mates by frightening bounds, and her mannerisms were only a mere portrayal of her inner beast.

She continued in her mesmerizing tone, "Bringing a human whose foundation is laced with enmity against the Luxols...a target from the mission you were sent into."

None of the elders dared to interrupt her at this pace, impressed by how effortless she made the human before they shriveled.

"then you realize how weak...ugly he is and still decide to bring him into the atmosphere of this chamber, sullying our eyes as with this holy ground."

The pressure in the chamber quickly faded, followed by Yvonne'Pil who retracted her awful gaze from the latter, heaving a sigh after.

"But you'll still be allowed to leave this room freely...with your complete payment-"

Rashly, a voice interrupted Yvonne'Pil's graceful flow, originated from Ed'scot who now held the bottle in his palms,

"It's only halfway filled. Did you not receive enough receptors from your made beasts?"

"Oh! I had a small..."

"Humanity petty excuses." Le'brix groaned, rubbing her palms over her forehead.

Yvonne'pil once again located her attention to Chad 63B4, a man who only looked at them with dead eyes,

"340 thousand tokens will be transferred to your (account) before the end of the day... Plus,"

A sack bag filled with ball-shaped crystals popped into the air, swiftly flowing down to Chad 63B4 who had a smile on his face.

"we arranged eight refined Grand Beast crystals as an extra reward."

As the bag landed in front of Chad's 63B4 foot, he couldn't help to take a look at the symphony of different colored crystals in the bag.

He barely ever laid hands on a crystal from an Awakened beast, yet, one that stood tiers above had become his property.

Beast crystals, especially when pure and refined were a powerhouse for any life form that wanted to become even more powerful, important for crafting enchanted items based on the origin of the crystal, and for some special human...or race, a luxurious food to leap their abilities by hundreds of folds.

Unfortunately, not all beasts had the ability to form crystals that could be uprooted from their spine.

"Thank you." Chad 63B4 bowed at his (progressors), his intended cheeky smile unintentional the frown frown on their faces.

"You may leave! Chad 63B4."

Chad 63B4 laid a tight grip on the bag and it disappeared into his spatial space immediately.

He backed away from the circle of Brass Elders, placing his last respect with a slight bow.

Finally, he stepped out of the chambers through the golden door and plunged into a bright red mat and peach wall.

"Come with us without causing any complication, Chad 63B4!"

The latter realized an assemblage of armored men, each pointing at him with their respective rifles.

Race 0A1 on the other hand struggled to breathe under the arms of a Luxol, his lean figure looking miniature at his arrestor.

"What is this?"
