The pages on the book constantly turned, wide seemingly coming from all directions. A prick is felt from his finger, as blood is seen dripping into the book, disappearing immediately upon contact with the book.
A connection is created between the book and Jake. Although faint in nature, Jake clearly felt that he is able to control the book, especially what he wants to find in it. In anticipation, he attempts to search for alchemistry. Suddenly, the book flipped to the first page, and the first sentence revealed halted Jake in his steps:
To whomever may read this book, know this is the property of Edward Richtofen, of the House Richtofen, Noblest in all of Germany. I pray that the knowledge contained in this book is used for the good of all mankind, and that no harm may ever be done to the common folk. Whatever you do, whatever you learn, may you know that fate will exact a price, whether it is today or tomorrow. I sincerely hope, and pray, whomever you might be, to always have a righteous heart, and to never make the same mistakes as me.
The words written in the front page made Jake realise that the young boy, and teenager, in his dreams, were the one and the same as the writer of the book. He recognized what he had seen in his dreams seemed to be connected to the book, the book seemingly bridging itself with his mid, showing snippets of Edward's past. Curiosity slowly grew inside him, as he realised that wanted to know more about this enigmatic boy.
But before he can do anything, pages flipped in the wind, crossing many chapters, before landing in one:
Hello, and welcome to my journal, where I will teach you, inspire you, and possibly, graduate you from your virginity!
"Wait, what?" Jake tilts his head in confusion, before words continued to flow in.
Just kidding. I hope it helped break the ice. Now, continuing on, I am a mere copy of the great Edward Richtofen, who was created to help compile and manage the myriad information gathered here. Although I, this great self, will disappear soon after, I just want to say, hope you enjoy reading through the book.
Hmmm? I wonder what can be written in this book. Is it all-knowing as it claims itself to be? As Jake muses, he decided to do a simple test: he decided to search upon goblins, as he is quite curious what it might say about Grud's race. When he searched for it, the book's pages started to turn swiftly, before settling into a blank page. Words started to materialize, filling the page:
Goblins, ah goblins. Those tiny critters who procreate everywhere, to say the better word. Native to the barren planet of Y-SD15T, or more commonly referred to as 'Goband', they mostly live on the edges of deciduous forests, living mainly on bugs, berries, and when possible, large herbivorous species that closely resemble deers. They have been quite prone to...
As Jake continues to read the content with apt fascination, signals unseen are being projected from the book, sending them beyond the sky and into the sea of stars, going towards regions long forgotten, long abandoned, long sealed.
