A lone boy is seen floating in space, wandering without any destination. Deep in sleep, his eyebrows twitch, sometimes quickly, sometimes slowly, but always in pattern. Though his mind was still unconscious, his body was not.
Glyphs slowly emerged from within him, encapsulating his entire body. Words and phrases slowly formed, each carrying weight nigh measurable. These words and phrases later entered the body, changing it l from within, making it better, more robust, and sexier.
After the glyphs had merged completely, tne boy opened his eyes, slowly fluttering them, as if unsure who he was, or where he was. After a while, he regained his semblance, and started checking his body, to see if he is alright.
Only after confirming everything did he remember to check his surroundings. "Where am I?" After looking through his hands, he realized that he looked ghostly. "W-why do I look like this!? What happened to me? Where am I?"
Just as he was panicking, a blinding beam of light appeared in front of him. A large mass of light is seen in the distance, which inside an artifact of some sorts can be seen nestled within. Jake realizes, in shock, that the object in question resembles a door, no wait, it is a door.
Clad in bronze, it stood tall with two pillars on each side, depicting the rise of the human civilization. How did he know? Well l, it just came into his mind. Markings and murals on the door depicted the earth, the rise of human civilization and endless wars. Though faint, traces of the eldar races were also present, which confused Jake.
Just as he was about to ponder on the issue, the door opened, blasting him with torrential energy.
Gasping with air, Jake wakes up, disorientated, in a hospital bed. "Janicus, he's awake!" A twindorian doctor rushes their way in, giving a curt look at Jake, before checking the monitors at hospital vital signs. Just then, a portly goblin waddles his way in, followed by a tall, albino-ish goblin.
"Thank you, thank you, thank you so much Jake. Thank you for saving dear Grud. I knew it would be the best decision of my life to let him be friends with you, thank you." The portly goblin spoke in a slightly deep voice, revealing himself to be Grud's father. " Dear, I was there when Gruddy first introduced him to us, and I'm pretty sure you did not say this at all. But either way, thank you for saving my Grud, whatever you want, we'll give you." After chiding the father, the white goblin, revealed to be Grud's mother, thanked Jake.
"You don't need to say anything, I would do anything and everything for Grud. He was there for me when I had nothing, and I will always be in his debt for the rest of my life." After making himself comfortable, Jake humbly replied to Grud's parents. He slowly sat upright, and made himself comfortable, before the effort exerted too much, resulting in him getting sleepy again. Grud's parents, seeing rhis, bid him farewell, and left his room.
Unbeknownst to him, while he was sleeping, Jake's body started to glow, just like in the dreams.
The next day, he was discharged. The doctors were baffled by this, because usually injuries of this magnitude requires at least a week or two of hospital stay for complete recovery. Despite staying for only one night, Jake was completely healed, leading him to be discharged from the hospital way earlier than required.
On the way home, he kept thinking how was it possible for him to recover completely, yet he had an inkling that this might have some link with the dream he had.
As soon as he reached home, someone called him out. Jake turned his head, finding that the one who had called him was none other than Edward, looking sheepish while scratching his head.
"Look, I... I just want to apologise for what I had said. I know what I did was inexcusable, but I had a reason to do it." Jake just stares silently back at him, before asking "Then tell me the reason at least. You can do that, right?" Edward opens his mouth to answer, hesitates, and attempts to answer again, but stops in his tracks.
He scrutinises Jake, before asking gravely "Boy, tell me what you did within the last couple of days." His composed voice, devoid of the usual joyous tone, scared Jake, causing him to unconsciously step back. Faint golden mist is seen emanating from him, causing Edward's eyes to open wide in shock. He ran back home, slamming the door shut
Edward, on the other hand, just unclench his fists, looking more ancient than before. He looked at Jake one more time, before sighing one last time and returning back home.
Jake felt guilty about how he behaved against old man Edward, but just comforted himself yeah, I can apologise tomorrow, it's no big deal.
What he did not know was that as he walked past his bookshelf, the book started to tremble as it felt the golden wind coming from Jake.
After a long day of catching up his chores, Jake got ready for bed. Just as he was passing the bookshelf, he stopped.
He had a sudden urge, for no apparent reason, to take out the book he had gotten for his birthday, and open it. He sees the blank pages, and chuckles to himself once again, ridiculing himself that it will be different today, that he will 'magically' find lost words within it, as if he is the chosen one or something.
However, this ceases promptly when the ink begins to traverse the pages, revealing the concealed words buried within.
