Days passed one after another. Jin moved between different types and forms of lectures.
His first week was more focused on the academic complex rather than the combat complex.
"Damn it, I have so many assignments," Jin sighed, exhausted.
He raised his hand and said, "This fucking Catherine isn't just crazy; even the assignments she gives us are stupid and overly complicated."
Jin reviewed what he had studied, muttering to himself, "What kind of monster, damn it... those damn lizards with long tails and human bodies...What were they called, hmmm?"
Jin scratched his head until he said, "Oh yes, kobolds."
"And their weaknesses, hmmm, what were they?"
He took a quick glance at the book to try to read, "Oh yes, yes, pure sunlight and extreme cold."
Jin kept repeating and reviewing the lesson to memorize it. And so his days passed for about a month.
This month was had only three subjects to study: studying chaos creatures at times, and at other times studying the history of the continents. The combat lessons were merely physical and fitness training.
Jin and the other students hadn't learned a single thing from John related to combat.
"What a waste of time," Jin sighed.
Unlike usual, the students of Class B this year were exceptionally intelligent. They were quick learners with a broad knowledge base, earning Class B the best reputation in the history of Lokaria.
Due to their sharp intellect, the teachers made the lessons more intensive and the tests tougher, turning the classes into a disaster for Jin.
"Damn it, why are they so smart?" Jin ran a hand through his hair in frustration as he struggled to absorb the material for the exams.
Jin, who had been at the top of his class on the very first day in B-Class, now found himself at the bottom. Even Henry, the shy and extraordinarily kind boy, had begun to mock him for his slow grasp of the material.
Jin wasn't lacking in intelligence; in fact, he was exceptionally bright. However, he struggled to accumulate enough points this month, overwhelmed by the advanced level of his classmates. His previous knowledge had been limited to fantasy stories, cookbooks, and other such diversions, leaving him underprepared for the rigorous demands of his current studies.
The other students already had some understanding of the various monsters, having seen these creatures through their wealthy families or in museums.
Wealthy and powerful families kept the bodies of creatures for study and dissection, teaching their offspring about these beings and giving them an idea of their appearance.
While many commoners visited museums to observe and learn about these creatures, Jin had only encountered a handful of chaos creatures.
Like the creepy-smiling Chaos Leader and some goblins and other creatures he encountered while traveling with Park and Lamar to the academy. There were creatures similar in appearance but with different weaknesses.
For example, Goblins and Hobgoblins looked alike but had different weaknesses and abilities.
Due to the students' extensive knowledge, Catherine and Ichiki had made the tests increasingly difficult. The sheer volume of information proved overwhelming for Jin, who struggled to absorb it all as efficiently as his peers, leading to a significant drop in his results.
"Damn it, my head is going to explode," Jin was frustrated.
He looked at the remaining assignments, "How in the hell am I going to finish this in just one week?"
Jin felt bored and decided to take a little risk. "I'll try to visit Amun's tomb, just for a bit, it won't hurt, right?"
After several minutes of hesitation, he summoned Amun's guardian.
Then he entered the tomb. "Ah, I missed this place."
Jin would always escape to the tomb to find peace and contemplation.
He sat down, observing the surroundings, then called out with curiosity.
He didn't expect anything, but he was bored, so he requested to see his statistics.
[Statistics]
─────────────────────────
*Title: ...
*Rank: Dreamer
*Artifacts: 0/1
*Weapons: 0/1
*Summons: 0/1
*Kills: 3 / 500
─────────────────────────
Jin looked at the statistics with a smile. "Finally, my rank changed."
"But what is a Dreamer?"
Jin called for Amun's guardian and asked, "What is a Dreamer?"
The writing appeared on the paper to answer, "It is one who possesses a dream."
Jin sighed. "As expected from you, a useless answer as always."
He hid his statistics, then drew the blood sword from his hand.
He wanted to train a little in swordsmanship, as it had been a long time since his last duel with Morgan.
Jin continued training in Amun's tomb until he forgot he had an exam the next day...
A month had passed, and winter had arrived. This year's winter was harsh and severe.
Most of Anvil's residents stayed in their homes and shelters, seeking refuge from the cold.
The extreme cold made it difficult for traders to buy trees from the residents.
Usually, during the winter season, the demand for oak trees in the northern cities increased, and Anvil was one of those cities supplying traders with oak wood.
But this year, the snow had made the forest nearly inaccessible so they did not sell much.
Elena sat, looking at the sky, blowing into her hands to warm them.
"Winter is cold this time." She coughed a little and added, "Ah, this is severe cold. Well, I will train tomorrow."
Meanwhile, Morgan sat in a café, drinking his warm coffee and reading the newspaper.
"Saint Adam announced his retirement? For heaven's sake, why!"
He took a sip of his coffee and started flipping through the newspapers again.
"The Orar family joined the Shanzo's, what a load of irrelevant nonsense."
Everyone in the city was busy with something in this cold.
One of the mothers was serving porridge to her eager children. "Mama, Mama, I'm hungry!"
She replied with a gentle smile, "Haha, wait, wait, I'm serving it now."
Elsewhere, an old man was petting his dog, keeping it warm in his arms.
One of the villagers, a drunkard, shouted at the waitress, "Bring more wine, you whore!"
In another corner, lovers were exchanging kisses and hugs, trying to feel the warmth in this cold.
Meanwhile, Sai and a group of nine people were outside Enfel, searching for one of the missing residents.
"Ooooi, can you hear us, Mr. Edman?"
Everyone called out, "Ooooi, Edman, you need to return immediately, the winter is getting harsher."
Everyone in Anvil was busy with their activities, unaware of a portal opening on the eastern hills.
The sound of heavy, thudding footsteps was heard, but no one noticed due to the heavy snowfall.
This being moved until it stood on the edge of the hill, holding a long katana in his hands.
It looked down at the piles of flesh that appeared before its eyes with a hollow, grim look devoid of emotions.
This creature was three meters tall, looking just like a human. Its eyes were crimson red, and its body was made of stones.
Behind it emerged hundreds of golem creatures. The snow continued to fall heavily on this abomination, which stood still for a moment.
The abomination looking at Anvil from the hill was a demonic statue!
