"how can you eat without lifting your mask?" yumiko asked kakashi with narrowed eyes, she already saw kakashi face in the show, so she have no interest in seeing it now.
what really intrigue her is his speed.
as you can see, today genma sent her off, as he was about to discuss her team issue with Hokage for the upcoming chunin exam, as he promised
so, she decided to eat breakfast in a dango shop
as she was going to eat in one of the dango shops she is familiar with, she bump into kakashi.
now back to present;
"Maa yumiko-chan you're just too weak to see my speed" he said shifting his sight away from his orange book to see her annoyed figure, amusement can be seen in his black eye.
oh how he love messing with genin.
she rolled her eyes then sighed in defeat. the gape in power is obvious, since she is a mere genin and he is a jōnin, there is no question in that
she shrugged the subject, not caring anymore, and moved to a more interesting one
"anyway... did genma-sensei told you? I am joining the upcoming chunin exam!" she exclaimed cheerfully
he titled his head to face her, his usual eye smile now present in his face as he hummed at her "make sure to come back in one piece yumiko-chan"
she shook her head in disappointment at his plain response. then continued eating her dango stick.
as they were eating peacefully, a voice suddenly interrupt them, a voice she only knew in the show.
that might be odd, but till now, she never meet might guy
she rarely meet kakashi in the first place, let alone guy
"MY ETERNAL RIVAL! KAKASHI!" guy beamed with cheerful voice ruining the peaceful atmosphere
at this voice, kakashi sighed helplessly then put his icha icha book at the restaurant table, an annoyed expression can be seen in his only visible eye
yumiko grinned at him, not bothering hiding the amusement after seeing this new expression in the jōnin covered face
kakashi turned around, putting his back at the table then waved at guy casually
"yo guy" he said to the man with a green jumpsuit, already knowing what's coming next
he then glanced at the genin beside him, to find her grining like a maniac at his complicated face, he raised an eyebrow at her expression, puzzled
she was acting as if she knew he was suffering.
after looking at her, a bright idea come to his mind which made him smile at this one thought.
before kakashi can speak the thought he was cut off by guy challenging tone
"my youthful rival let's spar today! and if I lose I will do Five hundred rounds around the village in the hands!"
kakashi shook his head and instead of answering his question he introduced the girl next to him
"guy this is yumiko-chan, genma student. yumiko-chan this is might guy. my friend... and my rival" he sighed
guy looked at her curiously then smiled widely "why hello there! I am Might Guy, Konoha's Green Beast! it's nice to meet another youthful genin from our village!"
she smiled at him and nodded in knowledgment, she opened her mouth to answer but before she can say anything, she was interrupted by kakashi
"you see guy, yumiko-chan is about to do the chunin exam and asked me to train her in taijutsu" he paused then glance at yumiko while he sigh dramatically "but unfortunately, I was given a mission by the Hokage... So...can you take care of her instead?" he asked hopefully
while the other party was stunned, her grin was replaced with a shocked face
she stared at kakashi with a blank face
'how can he lie with a straight face?'
more so, she is furious for being dragged this easily against her will to do might guy training!
this is her day off! he can't make her train in her day off!
and that's all for the sake of him not dealing with his own friend!
kakashi glanced again at the wide eyed genin beside him, he smiled innocently under his mask
yumiko didn't know that she just made the jōnin day much better
she thought bitterly 'am ain't doing that hell of training because of you kakashi' she glared at him, she was about to decline his 'humble offer' as she didn't ask for training in the first place
but her plan of avoiding it went down the drain when guy suddenly grabbed her arm and dragged her next to him
"MY YOUTHFUL GENIN, I WILL MAKE SURE TO TRAIN YOU HARD TODAY SO YOU CAN MAKE IT AS A CHUNIN! I CAN'T WAIT! GIVE IT ALL YOU HAVE! AND MAKE THE VILLAGE PROUD!"
'I'm screwed' was her last thought before being dragged outside the restaurant.
what else can she say? she just got her fate sealed by kakashi hatake
speaking of him, he waves at them saying 'good luck' to her
guy said seriously "yumiko-chan we already wasted much time let's start our training with a simple warm-ups" he gave her a thumb up, and with that they begin their 'warm-ups'
Well, you can guess what is a warm-ups for guy.
running around the whole ass village fifty times
of course yumiko didn't even reach the thirty round even thought she is an Uzumaki, and her stamina is more than a normal genin
still, that was expected.
though guy was surprised to see her last this long
he thought fascinated 'her stamina is far good from a regular genin, no wonder she graduated early, if she continue training seriously she can be a special jōnin after five years... or more, well, that's all depends on her progress and determination to keep up at the same rate of her training' he nodded at his thought then approached the out of breath yumiko
"ALL RIGHT! yumiko-chan you did last more than I thought! for this I am giving you a reward! HUNDRED PUSH-UP!"
yumiko looked at him with horror, cursing kakashi for his dirty scheme
she thought in frustration while clenching her fists 'I will burn that book of yours kakashi, I swear to god you're gonna pay it dearly'
she creaked a smile at guy, still out of breath "I'll... try my best guy-sensei" she said while breathing heavily
she will never do the same mistake of training with guy. never.
that day finished with her body unconscious in the ground lifelessly.
Fortunately, guy was kind enough to take her to the hospital and waited till she gained conscious.
alas, that only made her more determined to burn all kakashi icha icha paradise books collection. not only one.
The good news that still didn't reach her, is that genma already put her into a team who had shortage of a team member
and she will meet them tomorrow, so they can get to know each other and develop their teamwork.
