Chapter 16 - CHAPTER SIXTEEN:  WHO IS DRYSTAN LYSANDER?

 AGATHA'S POV.

I glanced at Lunaria, our mouths wide open in unexpected shock.

"Tell us more- tell us everything," I ordered, breathless.

"Drystan has faked countless deaths and renewed names every sixty years. It is forbidden to visit the great priest because it would be discovered that he is the plague, the problem of the land. Drystan wants to avenge the death of his father and create more people like himself," Tespestina responded in agony.

"But how can he do that when it's a curse that he can't control?" Lunaria asked the expression on her face displaying confusion.

"It is a curse, but with the 7 amplifiers, it becomes power. He will become very powerful to be challenged. Agatha, Drystan has been waiting for you for years now," Tempestina warned.

"Me, Why me?" I asked in worry.

"Don't you get it, You are the way, the lead to the amplifiers. Why do you think you dream about it? It speaks to you, it calls and directs you. Agatha, you are the chosen one, you are in between good and evil. Both sides want the amplifiers but they can't get it without you," Tempestina warned.

"So you are saying that Drystan is not a normal human like us, he is ancient and all he wants is the amplifiers to fight the curse and become more powerful. Powerful enough to defeat anyone?" I asked to be sure.

"Yes," Tempestina declared.

"What happens if he gets the amplifiers?" I was alarmed.

"The world would die. This is why your only focus right now should be…finding Kethan," Tempestina responded.

"And how am I supposed to do that? I don't even know if he's alive or not. This whole thing is cracking me up," I blurted out truthfully.

"You are powerful Agatha. More than you expected, you are a link to both Drystan and Kethan. Power lives in you, you are just not ready yet," Tempestina replied with a smile.

"A link, how am I going to be ready?" I asked, switching into investing mode.

"That's where you need me," Tempestina teased.

"No!" Lunaria disagreed.

"Wait, you are Drystan's mother…that means you are ancient also. Are you cursed too?" I asked in deep thought.

"I am ancient but not cursed," Tempestina responded.

"Why are you helping us?" I demanded anxiously.

"Because you look exactly like my daughter," Tempestina answered bluntly.

"You never mentioned you have a daughter," I accused.

"You never asked," Tempestina retorted.

"Where is she?" I demanded.

"Dead!" Tempestina replied sadly.

"I'm sorry, we will try to trust you. When are we starting the training," I asked eagerly.

"Now!" Tempestina replied.

"Now? Here in this scary life-threatening woods?" I asked in fright.

"Your problem is…you play too much. Put that behind you because a very powerful role lies In Front of you. And guess what…we don't have much time," Tempestina threatened.

"Follow me," Tempestina commanded, launching in front.

"Sorry…can I ask one more question?" I asked trailing behind Tempestina.

"No!" Tempestina declined.

"Did Drystan kill the king with this plague?" I asked regardless, making her freeze her steps.

"Yes," Tempestina coldly responded.

"You knew about it and yet couldn't stop it?" I asked in fury.

"Like I said, both the king and your husband had to die, it's a part of the process," Tempestina responded without glitching.

"You are a monster," I whispered in spite.

I glanced at Caspian and nodded in agreement before smiling at Lunaria to give her a chance.

 DRYSTAN'S POV

I smiled shamelessly pleased with my progress.

"I found her, I found the lead to the amplifiers…I have waited hundreds of years for you Agatha. Finally!" I yelled out in happiness.

"Father, it's time to avenge you and take my place in this world," I screamed, laughing sarcastically.

Soon it was dusk, and everywhere was quiet, Agatha hadn't returned to my chamber but it was nothing to worry about, I had her with me already, and that's all that matters.

"Oh my Agatha," I muttered in satisfaction.

"Guards!!! Check on Agatha, do not disturb her, she needs a lot of rest," I cautioned, sending him away.

Soon, the guard came back with a sad face, shivering in fear.

I glanced at him, irritated.

"Did you disturb her rest? I asked, groaning in anger.

"No-no your grace," he stammered.

"Okay…so, what do you look like a captured rat?" I asked, displeased.

"I-i-i…" The guard stammered.

"Say it or I will order your tongue pulled out," I threatened with raised eyebrows.

"Lady Agatha is not in her chambers," he announced.

"Queen Agatha, you mean," I corrected in fury.

"Yes-yes your grace," he promptly accepted.

"Okay, that isn't a problem, she might have decided to take a stroll around the kingdom. Let her do whatever she wants," I replied, smiling warmly.

"I thought so too until I discovered that Queen Lunaria and Caspian are also missing…your grace," The guard murmured in agony.

"Lady Lunaria…you mean," I corrected again, grinning angrily.

"Yes, your grace," he replied.

"Alright then, find them and escort them back to the kingdom. Agatha and Lunaria probably went out for fresh air and Caspian is guarding them. Find Agatha, she needs more protection," I commanded, resting my back with my eyes closed, I puffed out a sign of relief.

"Immediately your grace," The guard responded with footsteps retreating.

Restless, I walked towards the window when the guard rushed in again.

"If you have no good reason for badging into my chamber, you will regret it," I coldly stated.

"Your grace…please forgive my stupid act…I-i searched everywhere…but I was unable to find the Queen and her accomplice," he cried out.

"Just keep searching, I'm sure they are somewhere in this kingdom, they have nowhere else to go," I replied, exhausted.

The expression on his face told me there was more to it, something I should be worried about.

"What is it," I groaned.

"I…I asked the people of this kingdom, they testified to having seen them leave hours ago on a horse," The guard announced.

"I'm sorry for your grace…I promise to find them please," he pleaded in fear.

"Give me your sword," I commanded in fury.

Trembling, he reached out to me, handing me the sword. And upon collection, I sliced his throat, watching him bleed to death.

"Hunt them down!!! Kill them if you need to, but I want Agatha back, unharmed."
