Chapter 20 - CHAPTER TWENTY: THE FIRST AMPLIFIER.

 AGATHA'S POV

My mouth dropped open in shock.

"You what? Cursed… you are a witch?" I questioned, to be clear.

"Do Drystan know you are responsible for his father's curse? Which by the way…passed on to him," I added.

"No he doesn't, and he shouldn't," Tempestina responded.

"We have been going around with an ancient witch…WOW! I should have listened to you, mother- we shouldn't have let her in," I exclaimed in shock, staring at Lunaria.

"I am harmless Agatha," Tempestina corrected.

"You are damn right…you harmlessly cursed an ancient man with a terrible, disgusting plague," I retorted.

"Agatha, get to Kethan we don't have much time," Tempestina threatened.

"I heard that the first time…w-i-t-c-h," I murmured.

"I heard you…" Tempestina groaned, walking away.

"Alright…playtime is over; get Caspian and let's find Kethan. We need to get to the white deer first," Lunaria declared.

I hurriedly went to set Caspian free, and we launched out of the kingdom.

"How do we find Kethan?" Caspian asked.

"That question is for Agatha," Lunaria replied.

The vision unfolded before me like a canvas of vibrant colors and swirling patterns.

"This way," I directed, walking into the city.

Kethan stood there, by the riverside, where we were taken. He vanished but it seems he came back.

"Kethan," I called out but didn't get a reply.

"Kethan…I know we started on the wrong foot. Let me reintroduce myself," I pleaded but still got no response from him.

"Agatha we need to hurry, Drystan is already searching the woods," Lunaria blurted out.

"Mother, I am hurrying alright…it's not like we can tie him on a horse and force him to go with us," I retorted in exhaustion.

"Bad idea," Caspian protested.

"Kethan… I am not your wife… I mean I am your wife but- I was your wife. Look, any of that is really not important right now, I know you are looking for the seven amplifiers and only I can lead you to them," I announced and finally, I got a response.

He coldly turned around to face me.

"You are still as handsome as forever," I whispered in disappointment.

"A…ga…tha," Lunaria threatened.

"What? Can't I express my emotions too," I argued.

"How do you know I am looking for the amplifiers," Kethan's voice rang out in the open air.

"Cute voice but how I know is also not important…What's important is Drystan is currently searching for it," I retorted.

"Drystan Lysander…the cursed man, I have to stop him," Kethan declared.

"You know Drystan, and you know he's cursed?" I asked, shocked.

"Yes and I also know I have to stop him," Kethan responded.

"You mean…we." I corrected.

"Wait, that means you know what you are destined for but you can't remember your former life. You no longer know the people you used to know," I pointed out with a sad smile.

"We need to leave," Kethan announced.

"Yes, you can ride with me," I responded.

"No," Kethan declined.

"OUCH! Alright… take my horse, I'll ride with your mother," I replied but he didn't care.

"Lead the way," Kethan coldly declared.

"That's the way," I replied, pointing towards the direction of the woods and he just left.

"Mother…we used to ride together on the same horse," I said to Lunaria pouting.

"That's a YOU problem," Lunaria retorted.

We began the journey to the woods to search for the white deer.

"What if Drystan finds the deer first," Lunaria blurted out.

"You just unlocked a new fear," I responded.

"He can't," Kethan announced.

"Why? The deer is there in the woods and I think he's on the verge of finding it," I answered.

"Because it only appears to you, Agatha. I was waiting for you because I failed trying to get it on my own. You are the only connection we have to get it…All the amplifiers," Kethan announced.

"This makes me feel important, what else do you know?" I asked, interested.

"No, this gives you a bigger role to play," Kethan cautioned.

"Do you not remember me- you don't remember us?" I muttered, heartbroken.

Kethan kept mute, I couldn't tell if he was annoyed or sad, I just knew he was cold and emotionless.

We dived deep into the woods searching for something that seemed not to be visible.

"Stop," I commanded.

"What is it?" Caspian asked.

"It's here?" I blurted out.

"The deer is here?" Lunaria asked.

"Yes, it's right here," I whispered.

"So what then are you waiting for, summon it and let Kethan kill it. Problem solved," Lunaria declared.

"The deer is here, and so is Drystan. Drystan is here," I announced.

"Here…where? I can't see him," Lunaria disagreed

"Trust me. They are all here- hiding," I blurted out.

"So what is he waiting for? He's not attacking," Caspian replied, confused.

"He's waiting for her to summon the deer so he can kill it," Kethan blurted out.

"That means I shouldn't," I muttered.

"Do it," Kethan declared.

"What? He's right here watching us," I retorted.

"Can you point out where he is?" Kethan asked.

"Yes, he's behind us with some men and few men are In front and beside us… we are surrounded," I responded, frightened.

"How many are there," Kethan asked.

"About twenty-five," I declared.

"Are you sure?" Kethan asked, to be certain.

"I don't know Kethan, I'm not good at this yet," I whispered in frustration.

"Summon the deer, once you do, I kill it immediately. You get that?" Kethan commanded.

"Okay," I replied, slamming my eyes shut.

The white deer appeared, radiating a warm, golden light that illuminated everything around it, shining with a fierce, electric intensity that was almost blinding, sparkling like a thousand diamonds in the sunlight.

And from nowhere, arrows flew up in the sky, sending greetings to Kethan.

Countless arrows hit him, causing him to slow down and collapse to the ground with blood spewing all over.

"Kethan," I screamed, rushing towards him.

"Agatha no! Concentrate…do not let Drystan kill the deer," Tempestina's voice echoed from nowhere.

Immediately, I dragged out Caspian's sword, rushing towards the white deer, and so did Drystan.

Both of us ran towards the deer in desperation.

Shutting my eyes, I summoned the deer, making it appear right In Front of me, and with that, I drove the sword into its beaming skin.

As I stood there, something shifted inside me. It was like a spark had been ignited, a flame that spread rapidly through my veins, filling me with a sense of unbridled power. My heart pounded in my chest, my senses heightened, and my muscles tensed with newfound strength. I felt like I could move mountains, shatter steel, and defy gravity. The world around me seemed to shrink, becoming smaller and more manageable. I was no longer just a mere mortal, but a force to be reckoned with. A surge of electricity coursed through my body, and I knew at that moment, I was unstoppable.

I felt the weight of my doubts and fear lifting like shackles falling away, and in their place, a surge of adrenaline coursed through my body, amplifying my senses and sharpening my reflexes, making me feel like a finely tuned machine.

I stared at Kethan and then stared back at stunned Drystan.

"I was amplified."
