After the classes ended Dylan went back to his dormitory. He charged his phone and went to take shower. Just when he came out his phone ranged. He looked at the name and decided to ignore it. But the person seems to be in urgency as the phone ranged again. Dylan frowned. He looked down at the name again and picked up the phone, "Hello."
The other person on the phone seems to say something which made him frowned even deeper. He answered, "I'm studying. I don't have time to come."
As he looked outside the window the sun is about to set. It will be in thirty minutes. He assumed. The other person on the phone is still saying something but he stayed silent. After few more minutes when the person didn't give up, he sat down on the chair. He closed his eyes frustrated and irritated.
He pursed his thin lips. Replying after thinking for a while, "I got it." He massaged his temple and said slowly, "I will be there."
He hanged up without waiting anymore. He looked down at his notebooks and at the phone again. "It's irritating." He mumbled. Really, he doesn't really like to be interrupted between his studies. Interrupting like they will die if a single meaningless things didn't happen. Dylan can feel his nerves rocking due to anger.
When he was sitting there with dark aura, the door opened. He looked back at the sudden noise. There appeared Cassian slowly stepping ahead. Took off his shoes and wore his slipper. Dylan pursed his lips. He sighed again.
Cassian saw his unusualness and asked, "What happened?"
Dylan replied almost immediately, "I have to go home." Saying this he looked up at the ceiling. He doesn't like to go back. He wants to stay here and study. But he can't not go when they ask him to come.
Cassian nodded. He can feel that Dylan has some issue. He doesn't like to go back, or he is angry at something. Anything can be the situation. Cassian did his usual routine and saw Dylan still there. He dried his hair and sat down at his seat.
He felt that this is awkward. Dylan is feeling sad, irritated, angry, or anything. But he has to ask him as a friend. Cassian felt helpless as he turned around. He saw Dylan's head lowered and he decided to ask, "You don't want to go back?"
Hearing his question Dylan looked back at him and gave a light yet helpless shook. Saying, "I don't know."
How can he not want to go back and visit his own parents. He really wants to, but he also doesn't like them. It's difficult to like them and more difficult to love them.
He said, "I will go." Then stood up from his seat. Taking few clothes suited for going out he went in. His unwillingness is still evident as his face is so gloomy. Dylan wore black. All black! From top to bottom. He wore mask, cap, jacket, pants, and even the socks. All black.
Cassian seeing him like this cannot help but think about the spy movie he used to like. In that movie the protagonist always wore black. The reason for that was very silly. The protagonist didn't like to wash cloths and black clothes are rarely dirtied or one can say cannot see the dirt on black. Most of the time, he always used to wear black. Due to that scene in that movie, the protagonist and the actor who played the role became very famous. People even made stickers to chat using his expression.
Now, Dylan has worn all black, Cassian cannot help but think about it. Dylan was now taking the charged mobile which is still very low. Only 20 percent. He doesn't like this thing when his phone battery is low like this. But he has no choice. Seeing him sighing even at his phone Cassian said, throwing him his power bank. "Here use it. If emergency came and your battery died it will be awful."
Dylan looked at the power back he caught and nodded, "Thanks." The power back is also black in color. But it has an anime sticker of a great manipulator. It looked very cute. Dylan slipped it inside his jacket pocket and plugged in the earphones. He then left from there.
Cassian looked at the closed door behind him. He looked down at his notes. Started moving his pen. His focus was clear. He at that night completed the longest chapter in their syllabus. He sighed and felt refresh seeing his work done.
At the other side, Dylan has stopped a taxi and is now still in it. His home is in another city. They called him in the middle of his semester. They better have something important to do this time now.
His eyes glancing outside the window. The night seemed to be deeper and very relax. The darkness appeared more peaceful than the daylight. Dylan saw the taxi going through the large bridge. Before him appeared, the lights sparkling over him, and he slides the window a little down. The wind hit his face and he felt drunk. Even though it is cold, yet his heart felt warm. The beautiful bridge has couples standing at its side. In every few meters away, there are another couple after passing the previous one.
Dylan looked at their cheerful faces and how they seem to love spending their time with the other person. He is unknown to those emotions. For Dylan love, affection, care and duty, all are unknown traits of humans. His heart doesn't long for it. All he has in mind is just stay how he is now. Study and remain dutiful.
He closed his eyes feeling the fresh cold air sweeping through his hair and ears. Feeling the coolness of the night he calmed down. His heart also silent and mind slowly entering in peace.
So, when Dylan reached his home, his mood was fixed and normal. He didn't become angry.
