Cassian looked at Dylan in shock. He cannot help but imagine the life with Karl. This person always makes trouble. He is so selfish and even thick skin to the point he came to ask for notes to Cassian who he was intending to beat before. If Karl was Dylan's roommate, given Karl's shameless temperament and Dylan's lazy to deal with Karl's attitude, Cassian can easily understand his previous situation. Dylan has his shoulder shrunken a little. Even his body language is expressing his past distress. Cassian felt funny. He looked at Dylan's exhaling expression and patted his head subconsciously saying, "Well, I can understand."
After he touched his soft and warm hair Cassian jerked of his hands back in lightning speed. He looked ahead afraid to see peculiar expression on his roommate's face, "I will go for my classes. Only ten minutes left. See you later." He walked away without his answer.
When Cassian took the turn and disappeared from the corridor and Dylan couldn't see his figure anymore, he touched his own head in awe. Feeling the previous light pat. This is his first time having someone, who is an outsider to pat his head like this. His brother used to do this but now they meet each other rarely. So, for Cassian to pat his hair like this and Dylan to experience it, he definitely doesn't hate this. He had this urge to smile like an idiot, but he didn't. Perfectly restraining.
His class also hasn't started yet when he arrived. He sat down at the random seat where are less people and because it is almost the time when teachers come in others didn't approach him. This made his muscle relax. After the class ended and he packed his stuff. He walked out of the class and decided to go and eat his lunch. When he arrived at the cafeteria there, he had his plate fill and he then started to look for the table. Almost all the table were full.
He felt scanned the room with his dull eyes before noticing a person waving at him. It appeared like Cassian. He looked for few seconds and really saw Cassian. He is alone and sitting with his back to him but looking at him. Dylan didn't think about anything else and walked to him. He sat down opposite to him. Cassian has his plate fill and didn't seem like he has eaten much. Dylan was slightly content. The reason is unknown. This can be considered their first time eating together. Cassian never went down for sinner and breakfast. During lunch time he has classes, so the lunch period is an hour later than Dylan's.
Dylan asked, "I never saw you here before."
Cassian replied his cheeks bulging slightly, "Lunch period is an hour later. Our teacher happened to be absent today so came here to eat."
"Oh." Said Dylan started eating. They didn't talk again.
People around them are shocked. Their jaws dropped and some even sprouted water back while drinking. They cannot believe in their eyes. They saw everything. Like how Dylan Reid who never likes to eat with others actually took the initiative to sit down with a guy and had his meal. He ever talked with guy. Even though no one heard him, it was Dylan who asked something for definitely. Everyone thought. Certainly, none of them thought about something else but they grew curious about Cassian's identity. Karl also saw this scene and the representators of the college who wanted to stay close with Dylan too. Their eyes piercing Cassian's back but he ate his meal with no problem. He knew this will happen.
When he finished eating Dylan also had his last spoon. They completed their lunch together. Cassian took the tissue paper and cleaned his lips. Dylan did the same. They returned the plates to return to their classes. The people looked at their backs like cctv camera. Intently looking as if fearing to miss them. Now they see them again, Cassian has a very strong presence but easily overlooked not because he is aloof, but he is very discreet. People are looking at them with different emotions and feelings.
Cassian can feel them very well. He sighed. When he was ready to eat, the surrounding which was not so loud previous started sound groups of whispering, and he also looked back to see what is happening. He appears to have no intention to share his seat. Maybe because people are too noisy and will disturb his lunchtime. Cassian was afraid that he will attract unwanted to attention if he offers Dylan to come at him, but he is his roommate and Dylan even helped him before to deal with his parents. He also brought him dinner and breakfast. Even without him asking him. Thinking that eating lunch together will not cost him anything he decided to give a wave at him. If he ignores and goes away than that's another story. Cassian was hoping that he ignores him completely and sits somewhere else. It doesn't matter if he is left embarrassed. The major problem would arise if Dylan actually decided to sit with him.
He had not expected him to actually come and eat with him. Dylan has a strong sense of boundary. He doesn't like to share the seat and let alone eat with others.
Dylan and Cassian parted ways after exiting the cafeteria. Cassian has three more classes and Dylan two. Behind them people had already guessed his identity as Dylan's roommate. But Dylan never had seen eating with Karl who was his previous roommate. They were skeptical but soon find it absurd. They didn't think anymore as everyone thought Dylan is treating Cassian like a younger brother. But few remain doubtful. The most sensitive people.
