Damien watched the crowd for a moment, his mind swirling with thoughts. Something inside him stirred, a need to prove himself, to test his limits in this new world filled with ancient figures and even demons.
"I need to see where I stand," Damien said quietly, more to himself than to Selene.
She arched a brow, her eyes gleaming with curiosity as she observed him. "You're thinking about fighting, aren't you?"
He nodded. "I can't just sit here and watch like a spectator. If I'm going to survive the expedition to the Aldrin Rain Forest in the next three days, I need to know what I'm capable of."
Selene smiled. "Brave... or foolish. Either way, you'll find out soon enough." She nodded toward the side of the arena, where a long line of young vampires and other contenders waited to register for the next round. "You'd better get in line. They don't wait for anyone."
