The system was nice and restored Lee's status to full health after the winner was decided. Wu was also revived on the spot with no penalties. The charm of a system arranged tournament.
"Woah," Lee exclaimed. "That was scary, the last shot. How did you do it?"
"My talent," Wu vaguely explained. "It has a bonus effect, an extremely low chance to trigger an absolute hit."
Everyone sucked in a deep cold breath. Absolute hit. It was one of the overpowered things everyone wanted. It meant that no matter what happens, any blocks, any dodges, or any counters, it will always hit the person directly.
It was the reason why Wu's arrow went right through Lee's shield as if it didn't exist.
[Match 2]
[Yel vs Jill]
"I forfeit," Jill said.
Yel turned and saw Jill smiling at him, "Why?"
"You're gonna win anyways," Jill said. "I know there is no way I can beat you at the current stages."
"You never know," Yel complained. "I wanted to fight you, it would be a good fight."
Jill shook her head, then lowering her head, she blushed slightly. Yel tilted his head, did he just see Jill blush?
[Winner of Match 2: Yel]
[Round 1 ends, Round 2: Yin vs Lee, Yel bye]
Yin sighed. Yin had told Yel his talent, which scaled with Magic Attack. He allocated all his stat points into intelligence, but before his class changed, he couldn't use advanced magic.
Yin held his staff with two hands nervously. He didn't know how this would turn out — it was his first time fighting.
The only skill he had right now was [Thunder Bomb: Deal (50+5xMagic Attack) damage to an area of radius 5 metres. Cost: 40 MP]. To get this skill, he paid all of the gold he grinded to a beggar NPC in the marketplace of Sura.
Thinking of this made him mad. It was a pure scam by the beggar. If it wasn't an urgent need and the only skill book around that you can get without advancing class, he wouldn't have paid.
He wanted to show off and make a good impression at the party, so he could join Yel.
His talent "Penetration" should be able to counter Lee's heavy defence, Yin thought. At least in theory.
One downside of it was that he had to get into direct contact to send the skill under Lee's skin.
[Round 2]
[Yin vs Lee]
Yin was a gamer, so he knew how to start the duel.
He waved his staff and sent a Thunder Bomb at Lee, who raised his shield as the bomb flew towards him.
The bomb exploded into thunder and lightning visual effects, adding on with Lee's shield, it blocked some of his vision.
Yin dashed to the left and covered the distance. He moved into Lee's blindspot and snuck up to him. When Lee recovered from the stumble created by the bomb, he could no longer see Yin.
He turned around and saw Yin beside him. Yin extended his staff, and struck Lee's chest.
Lee didn't know what Yin was up to, but then a pain erupted in his chest.
"Aahhhhh!"
The thunder bomb exploded inside of his chest. Although Yin could only penetrate through the skin, it still dealt massive amounts of damage.
Yin took a step forward and struck again, expecting a free hit that would finish Lee off.
However, his staff struck a shield. The shield was emitting a brown aura and had the pattern of a Xianese mythological creature, Xuan Wu, the Great Black Tortoise. Xuan Wu had the highest defence out of the 4 gods in Xia Mythology, having it on a shield suggests that it was extremely protective.
Yin struck the shield and instantly felt a reflected blow back onto him.
Yin flew backwards and landed a few metres away.
He laid there like a distorted figure, for he had taken the full bomb inside of him. With lower STA than Lee, he couldn't survive the hit like Lee did.
Then he was revived.
[Winner of Round 2: Lee]
Yel fell into deep thought. He knew the familiar aura that the shield emitted.
