Analise Brenen was born in Lubbock, Texas to her parents, Lilly and Marcus Brenen. Her mother showered her with love and affection, constantly spoiling her with gifts, new clothes, and even a loyal companion in the form of Coco, a brown Labrador who was registered as an emotional support dog. Before going to bed each night, Lilly made a promise to Analise that she would always be there for her. However, outside of their home, Marcus, Analise's father, was an abusive alcoholic.
Tragedy struck when Analise was just ten years old, as her mother passed away from cancer. She was laid to rest next to her grandparents, and it was at this point that the abuse from Marcus began. He started to subject Analise to physical, verbal, and emotional torment. In the midst of this darkness, Analise found solace in her faithful companion Coco and her love for watching Halloween movies, feeling a strange connection to the character of Michael Myers.
One fateful night, as her father returned home in a drunken state, Analise sought refuge in her room with Coco. However, she eventually decided to take a shower. As she made her way to the bathroom, she noticed her father standing in the doorway of his bedroom, staring at her with a predatory gaze, much like a wolf stalking its prey. After finishing her shower, she was horrified to find Marcus standing in the bathroom, completely naked. In his slurred speech, he claimed, "You're mine." He forcefully grabbed her, and despite her attempts to escape, his strength overwhelmed her. He violently tackled her to the ground, causing her head to collide with the toilet, rendering her unconscious.
As Analise slowly regained consciousness, she witnessed her father getting off her and callously throwing a rag at her, commanding her to clean herself up. Despite the pain she felt throughout her body, she managed to clean up the blood and remove the disturbing substance she found on her thighs. She then got dressed and retreated to her room, seeking comfort in the embrace of Coco as she drifted off to sleep.
The following day at school, Analise confided in her coach about the abuse she had endured. He noticed the bruises on her body and immediately alerted the authorities. When confronted by the authorities, Marcus vehemently denied any wrongdoing. However, the detectives uncovered the most chilling piece of evidence: a video recording made by Marcus himself, capturing his assault on Analise in the bathroom. Upon further investigation, additional videos were discovered that dated back to when Analise was only 3 years old. These videos depicted Marcus engaging in inappropriate behavior towards her. As a result, Analise was placed in foster care while Marcus received a 55-year prison sentence. Coco, Analise's loyal companion, accompanied her throughout this difficult journey.
Initially, Analise was placed in the foster home of Jonathan and Amy. However, it became evident after just 2 months that Jonathan and Amy were solely motivated by financial gain. Jonathan began subjecting Analise to cold showers and verbally abusing her, while Amy turned a blind eye to the mistreatment. Thankfully, Coco stood by Analise's side and protected her when Jonathan attempted to assault her. Eventually, Analise mustered the courage to confide in her case worker, but unfortunately, the worker did not believe her. However, justice prevailed as the worker was subsequently fired, and a new case worker named Kyle came on board. Kyle believed Analise's account and promptly moved her to another foster home.
Analise's new foster home became the residence of Jackson and Maryanne Cook, along with their sons Jake and Skip. They warmly welcomed Analise and Coco into their family, providing them with a sense of safety and security. After spending 4 months with the Cooks, Analise was officially adopted by them. They made it a point to honor Analise's mother by visiting her grave every month, ensuring that her memory remained alive and
cherished.
