Chapter 4: The First Major Battle

Days turned into weeks as the group continued to explore their surroundings and fortify their camp. Arjun's ability had become invaluable, helping them optimize their resources and adapt to the various challenges they faced.

One afternoon, as they were training and preparing for another expedition, a scout came running into the camp, his face pale with fear.

"There's a horde of beasts heading this way!" he shouted. "They'll be here any minute!"

Panic spread through the camp, but Vikram quickly took charge. "Everyone, get ready! We need to defend the camp. Warriors to the front, mages and healers in the back. Arjun, see if you can weaken the beasts before they reach us."

The camp buzzed with activity as everyone took their positions. Raj and the other warriors stood at the front, their weapons drawn and ready. The mages began chanting their spells, and the healers prepared to support the fighters.

Arjun focused on the system interface, accessing the code of the approaching beasts. He could see the horde moving quickly through the forest, their eyes glowing with hunger. With a few swift adjustments, he weakened their physical defenses and slowed their movement.

"They're coming!" someone shouted.

The ground shook as the horde of beasts charged towards the camp. Raj let out a battle cry and led the charge, his sword flashing in the sunlight. The first wave of beasts collided with the warriors, and the battle began.

Raj moved with incredible speed and precision, his berserker ability making him a whirlwind of destruction. He struck down beast after beast, his sword cutting through their weakened hides like butter. Beside him, the other warriors fought bravely, holding the line against the relentless horde.

Arjun stood back, his eyes focused on the system interface. He adjusted the code of the beasts, weakening them further and creating vulnerabilities for the warriors to exploit. He could see the effects of his work as the beasts fell more easily to the defenders' attacks.

Suddenly, a massive beast, larger than the others, burst through the line. It was covered in thick, armored scales, and its eyes glowed with a menacing red light. Raj charged at it, but his sword barely made a dent in its armor.

"We need to bring it down!" Raj shouted. "Mages, focus your spells on that beast!"

The mages directed their attacks towards the massive beast, their spells hitting it with explosive force. But the creature seemed almost impervious to magic, shrugging off the attacks as it continued its rampage.

Arjun knew he had to act fast. He accessed the code of the massive beast, searching for any weaknesses. It was a complex code, but he found a vulnerability in its armor. With a few precise adjustments, he weakened the armor's integrity.

"Raj, aim for its joints!" Arjun shouted.

Raj nodded and charged at the beast again. This time, his sword struck true, cutting through the weakened armor at the creature's joints. The beast let out a roar of pain, staggering as its movements became more sluggish.

"Keep attacking!" Vikram ordered. "We can bring it down!"

The warriors and mages focused their efforts on the massive beast, hitting it with everything they had. Arjun continued to manipulate its code, further weakening its defenses. Finally, with a mighty swing of his sword, Raj struck the beast's neck, severing its head from its body.

A cheer went up from the defenders as the massive beast fell to the ground, lifeless. The remaining beasts, seeing their leader defeated, turned and fled back into the forest.

When the battle was over, notifications appeared for everyone:

Experience Gained:

Raj: 50 EXP

Mages: 30 EXP each

Arjun: 20 EXP

Healers: 20 EXP each

Loot Collected: Massive Beast Hide x1, Beast Fang x4, Beast Bone x2, Beast Meat x10

The camp was left in a state of disarray. Many were injured, and some had fallen, but they had survived. Arjun felt a mixture of relief and exhaustion as he deactivated the system interface.

"Good job, everyone," Vikram said, his voice filled with pride. "We defended our home. Let's tend to the wounded and rebuild."

Arjun looked around at his comrades, feeling a deep sense of camaraderie. They had faced a great challenge and emerged victorious, but he knew that this was just the beginning. The world they had been transmigrated to was full of dangers, and they would need to stay strong and united to survive.

As night fell, the camp settled down, weary but determined. Arjun looked up at the stars, feeling a renewed sense of purpose. Whatever challenges lay ahead, he was ready to face them, one step at a time.
