Today, Shane and Ruby are getting engaged. But the event is closed to the media, only Ruby's family business partners are invited. After the event in Paris, Shane quickly prepared for the engagement by asking permission from Ruby's super-busy parents. The engagement was originally going to be just him and a few of his closest friends, but Ruby's parents didn't want anything to do with it. Ruby was the only daughter, so they wanted a big engagement party. But only business colleagues were invited. Ruby's company was not invited at all.
Shane could only do what Ruby's family wanted, so the event was quite big. Shane was tired of facing Ruby's parents' business colleagues because he had been introduced to Ruby's parents' business associates, but what else could he do? He had no choice but to follow Dady and Mommy Ruby. This was only an engagement, not a marriage. What would happen if they got married? He didn't know what would happen. Maybe more guests would be invited to their wedding, considering Ruby's parents were famous businessmen here in LA.
Shane was silent for a moment as Ruby's father introduced someone he hadn't seen in five years or even remembered. Shane only focused on working and working until he got the chance to open his own business. He was helped by his lover to promote his business. Not to mention, it turns out that Ruby's parents also secretly helped him, so more or less business colleagues who came today, Shane, knew him too, because they used bodyguard services from him.
"Meet Mr. Arthur, this is my daughter's future husband who will help me with my business because my daughter doesn't want to work for the company," said Antonio, Ruby's father.
Arthur extended his hand with a smile. Shane shook Arthur's hand and smiled forcibly. He wanted to take his hand away from Arthur, but Arthur held Shane's hand tightly.
"Ehem!" moaned Antonio, making Arthur release his grip.
"He looks like my partner who left," said Arthur, who was still smiling at Shane.
Antonio was quite surprised by Arthur's words. Arthur, whom Antonio knew, was a very reticent person, Frederick was his personal assistant and talked to him a lot. However, just this time, Arthur suddenly spoke, and what he was talking about was his partner leaving.
"Sorry, I have to go. Thank you for coming, Mr. Arthur," Shane said with a smile, and he excused himself. It didn't matter that Ruby's father hadn't given him permission to leave.
Shane moved quickly to meet Ruby, who was sitting at her desk because her legs were tired of standing. It was an engagement ceremony, but why was it like attending her parents' business event?
"Honey," Shane called when he was standing in front of his fiancée.
"What's wrong, baby?" asked Ruby as she looked up to meet Shane's face.
"You're tired, right? Let's go home now, okay? You want to?" asked Shane, smiling and rubbing Ruby's cheek with one hand.
Suddenly time stopped, Shane realized, because Ruby's lips parted and the music and chatter of the guests could not be heard. Shane tried to stay where he was, as if time had stopped. However, his ears heard a commotion.
"Sir, we can't just take Mr. Shane away from the event. Everyone will be suspicious and looking for him," Frederick said in a voice he recognized.
"No, I'll take him. He's mine, not anyone else's!" Shane raged, and there was the sound of something falling. It sounded so messy because it wasn't just one or two things falling.
"Sir, wait until the Red Moon appears. If it's like this, maybe Mr. Shane will leave again, and you won't be able to find him. If you wait until the Red Moon, you will never lose Mr. Shane again," Frederick said.
After everything returned to normal, Shane exhaled forcefully as he held his breath. Ruby frowned as she saw Shane exhale violently.
"Let's go home. Are you uncomfortable?" Ruby asked worriedly as she stood up from her seat. She held Shane's cheek in concern.
"Come on, let's go home," Shane said as he grabbed Ruby's wrist and pulled her a little roughly.
"Honey, wait. We have to get permission from dad and mom," Ruby said, a little distressed.
Shane stopped his pace, making Ruby breathe a sigh of relief as she had been overwhelmed by Shane's hurried pace. "Let's ask dady and mommy's permission. They'll be mad if we just leave," Ruby said.
Shane nodded his head in response. They walked over to Ruby's mom first. "Mom," Ruby called to her mother.
Her mom turned and smiled at her daughter. "Do you want to go home?" asked her mother, who understood that if her daughter had called out when the event was not over, she would want to go home immediately.
"Can I?" asked Ruby, her face as tired as possible.
"Can't I?" asked her mother with a smile.
"So, it's okay, right?" asked Ruby with a smile.
"Sure, go home, or else stay at this hotel," replied her mother, who was still smiling.
"We're going home, mom," said Shane.
Grace - Ruby's mom smiled, she held Shane's shoulder. "Be careful on your way home. Take care of my daughter, she likes to walk when she's tired," Grace said.
Shane smiled, "Sure, mom, I'll take care of Ruby," Shane said.
Shane and Ruby now approached Ruby's father, who was already with another co-worker. "Dad," Ruby called back to her dad with a smile.
"Home?" asked Antonio.
"Yes. Is that okay?" asked Ruby.
"Of course, get some rest," Antonio replied. Ruby's father now looked at Shane. "Shane, take care of Ruby. She likes to walk when she's tired," Antonio said.
"Sure, Dad," Shane said with a smile.
After saying goodbye to Ruby's parents, they went home. Of course, they were driven home by Ruby's family driver. Shane looked at the car behind him several times to make sure Arthur wasn't following him.
"What's wrong with you?" asked Ruby, who felt her fiancé was acting strangely. She looked back to follow his gaze.
"I feel like I'm being followed," Shane replied.
"Who's following?" asked Ruby, who was now panicking.
"I don't know, I just feel like we're being followed," Shane replied, and he sat down properly, facing forward.
Ruby followed Shane's lead, she looked over at Shane, who was silent with heavy breathing. Ruby leaned closer and put her arm around Shane. "What's wrong? Tell me if there's a problem," Ruby said with one hand moving abstractly over Shane's chest.
Shane looked at Ruby but said nothing. He held Ruby's hand, which was moving abstractly over his chest. His thumb rubbed the back of his fiancée's hand. "I hope Arthur's presence won't make your dreams come true," Shane said quietly as he looked at Ruby's face.
He thought his marriage would keep Ruby's nightmares from coming true, but in his haste to marry Ruby, he had brought about the catastrophe. He was the one who had made Ruby dream those bad things. The bad thing that Shane wanted to avoid instead came to him. He really hoped Arthur had let him go and would never bother him again, even though he was confused by what Frederick had said about the Red Moon. What is the Red Moon? What happens during the Red Moon?
