Kane, who had been sitting on the couch busy on his phone, finally spoke. "Are you sure it was a good idea to come to work right after your father's funeral?" he asked, looking concerned.
Aurora sighed, setting the documents aside. "It's not about whether it's a good idea, Kane. It's about necessity. This company needs stability, and right now, I'm the one who has to provide it."
Kane looked at her, concern evident in his eyes. "But you need time to process everything. You've just buried your father, and now you're dealing with internal sabotage. It's a lot for anyone."
Aurora gave a small, weary smile. "I appreciate your concern, but I've been dealing with a lot for a long time. Right now, my focus is on making sure this company survives and thrives. I owe that much to myself and to everyone who depends on it."
