Aurora walked away from the boardroom, her heels clicking against the polished floor. "Those old geezers sure know how to put on some pressure," she thought, allowing herself a small, wry smile. "If I hadn't prepared for this meeting, I probably would have crumbled under their questions."
She approached her office, her mind already shifting to the next task. "I need to stay ahead of them when it comes to company matters. Every move I make has to be calculated," she reminded herself. The boardroom exchange had been a test, and she had passed, but she knew there would be more challenges ahead.
Just as she was walking, Anita, her assistant, looked up from her desk and asked, "How did it go, ma'am?"
"Better than I had anticipated," replied Aurora with a confident smile. She continued, "They had their concerns, but nothing I couldn't handle."
Anita nodded, visibly relieved. "That's great to hear. What's next on your agenda?"
