[The Boardroom]
It was around 9 a.m. in the boardroom, where the members of the board were waiting. Their impatience was evident.
"How dare she call us to a meeting and end up being late," grumbled Edward Mason, his fingers tapping irritably on the table.
"This is what happens when you let children run companies," chimed in Laura Blake. "Honestly, what was Kenneth thinking?"
"Do you reckon she called us here because of the matter with Jack Shepherd?" asked Thomas Hale, adjusting his glasses.
"Perhaps," replied Linda Cartwright. "However, we can always claim we were unaware of the matter."
"I believe it's in our best interests not to underestimate this young lady," interjected Charles Donovan, his tone serious.
"Why? Simply because she was able to find the slush fund?" scoffed Laura.
"We all know how meticulous Jack is. It would have taken reasonable competence to find that money," Charles replied, his gaze steady.
