The man began to chase the woman heading towards the exit.
Kane thought, "How did he break out of that simulation so quickly? Most people break after a few cycles, but this man seems to be enjoying himself. He is definitely flawed."
Aurora quickly said, "You have to stop him! She's tired; she won't make it to the exit. He's going to catch her!"
"Don't worry, I won't let him. His desire to kill may be strong, but so is my desire to save her," said Kane.
"Do that thing you did last time where you slowed time," Aurora suggested urgently.
"I can't right now," Kane replied. "That ability activates automatically when someone is exponentially near death. Right now, the best I can do is put some obstacles in his way to delay him so she can get away."
Kane discreetly pushed a brick with his foot on the floor towards the path the man was running. The man tripped on the brick, rolling a few times before quickly getting up to continue the chase.
