She quickly ran to the man lying unconscious on the floor. "Why is it that every time we meet, you collapse? I know I'm pretty, but you don't have to fall head over heels each time," Aurora said, adjusting him into a recovery position.
"Hey, wake up," she urged, shaking him gently. She touched his forehead. "He's cold, and his skin is pale," she observed.
"What's wrong with him?" she thought, leaning her head against his chest. "There's a heartbeat. At least he's not dead this time. But why is his heart beating so rapidly?" she added, her concern growing.
"What should I do? Should I call the cops or an ambulance?" Aurora muttered to herself. "Wait, if I do that, they'll start asking a lot of questions. Damn it, this is frustrating," she thought.
"Okay, calm down, Aurora. Let's see what we know," she reasoned. "First, he's passed out, his body temperature is unusually low, his heartbeat is rapid, and his skin is pale." She looked at him closely. "I may not have gotten my degree as a medic student, but I should be able to diagnose him."
As she tried to unbutton his doctor's coat, she realized his scrubs underneath were drenched in blood. A thunderous realization struck her. "Oh no, it's blood loss! I need to stop the bleeding."
"No, first I need to find the wound," she thought, examining where the blood seemed to have hardened.
Aurora hurried to her bedroom, her heart racing. She grabbed the med kit she still had from her time in med school and dashed back to the living room.
"Alright, focus," she muttered to herself as she opened the kit, laying out the bandages, antiseptic, and other supplies. She quickly put on a pair of gloves.
Gently, she unbuttoned the man's coat and cut away his blood-soaked scrubs, revealing a deep stab wound in his abdomen. Blood was still seeping from the wound, and she knew she had to act fast.
"Okay, first thing's first: I need to stop the bleeding," she said aloud, more to keep herself focused than anything else. She applied pressure to the wound with a clean gauze pad, watching as it quickly turned crimson.
"Come on, come on," she whispered, her hands steady despite the anxiety bubbling inside her. After a few moments, she reached for the antiseptic, carefully cleaning around the wound as best as she could without dislodging the gauze.
Next, she grabbed a roll of bandages and began wrapping them around his midsection, ensuring the gauze pad stayed firmly in place. "This should help slow the bleeding until I can figure out what to do next," she thought.
Her mind raced through her limited medical training. "He needs fluids. But I don't have an IV setup. What can I do?" She glanced around the room, her eyes landing on a bottle of water on the coffee table. "It's not ideal, but it'll have to do for now."
She lifted his head gently and tried to get him to drink. "Come on, just a little," she coaxed, managing to get a few sips down his throat.
She checked his pulse again - it was still rapid but slightly more stable. "Okay, that's a good sign," she told herself.
She took a deep breath and assessed the situation. "I've done all I can for now. If he doesn't wake up soon, I'll have no choice but to call for help, questions or not."
As she watched his chest rise and fall with shallow breaths, Aurora whispered, "Hang in there, whoever you are. You're not dying on me today."
Aurora sat beside the man, her mind racing with worry. She kept a vigilant eye on his breathing and pulse, hoping he'd show signs of waking up soon.
Minutes felt like hours as she waited. "Come on, wake up," she murmured, squeezing his hand gently. Just as she held his hand, she felt a strange but calm sensation course through her body. Then suddenly, the blood on his clothing that had clotted began to liquefy. Aurora, noticing this, gasped in fear.
"What's happening? What's this?" she uttered in shock.
The blood began to slowly re-enter the wound as if it were being called back into the body. Aurora watched in stunned silence, unable to comprehend what she was seeing. The wound started to close, the edges knitting together in a way that defied all logic and medical understanding.
As the last of the blood disappeared into his skin, the paleness of his face began to fade, replaced by a healthier color. His breathing evened out, and his pulse became stronger and more regular.
Aurora stared, her mind racing with questions. "How is this possible?" she whispered to herself. She looked at the man, still unconscious but now looking much more stable.
Aurora let go of his hand, her mind racing. "Just who are you?" she wondered aloud. She stood up and took a few steps, her thoughts a storm.
"What am I supposed to do about this? How can a wound heal itself? I've never seen anything like this before. Is this a trick? Am I imagining things? I just don't know anymore," she muttered to herself.
She glanced back at the man. "A man I thought was dead is alive right in front of my eyes. As if that weren't enough, I see his wounds heal themselves like something out of a fairy tale," she thought, watching him lie on the floor, now seemingly defenseless.
Aurora struggled to make sense of it all, feeling a mix of fear, confusion, and curiosity. She knew she needed answers, but she also knew she couldn't leave him alone in this state.
"There's too much I don't understand, but I can't leave him on the floor like this," Aurora muttered to herself. She bent down and tried to pick him up, struggling under his weight.
"Why are you so heavy?" she panted, straining to lift him. Despite the difficulty, she managed to get him to his feet and half-dragged, half-carried him to the couch. She laid him down carefully, wiping the sweat from her brow.
"What in the hell am I going to tell Mother?" Aurora wondered aloud. "No, actually, I think I should keep this to myself for now until I figure things out," she decided, starting to tidy up and pick up all the things she'd thrown earlier.
As she cleaned, she muttered, "I thought I'd have to buy bleach to wash off the blood from the floor, but magic man sucked it all back in. There's not even a bit of red on his clothes. I don't know what to make of this, really." She glanced at him, still unconscious on the couch, her mind filled with questions and uncertainties.
"With all this craziness, I'd forgotten I had to read the document when I arrived. Since he's still asleep, there's not much else to do," Aurora thought to herself as she finished picking up the items she had thrown earlier.
Aurora picked up the document she had dropped earlier and walked over to her desk, pulling out a chair to sit down. Placing the document carefully on the desk, she took a moment to steady herself. "Here goes nothing," she murmured, her heart racing with anticipation.
Flipping through the pages, she began to read. The words on the first page made her eyes widen in disbelief.
"This is unbelievable," she uttered softly, her voice filled with astonishment. "Me - Aurora, head of a company - the Almighty heard my prayers!" she exclaimed, unable to contain her excitement. She jumped around in exhilaration, though quickly remembering the man asleep on the couch.
"Oh, I should keep it down; he's sleeping," she whispered, giggling to herself. "Wait, this is my place, and he's the intruder. He better wake up soon so he can take his witchcraft and leave," she declared, but her grin betrayed her true feelings. She sat back down, still unable to suppress her happiness as she continued to read through the document.
"It says here I'm the head of 'Grayson And Mirage Health'. I'm guessing that's a subsidiary company of Mirage Corp. One of eight subsidiary companies, to be exact," Aurora thought to herself, carefully absorbing the information from the document.
"If that's the case, I can safely assume that the other siblings got more or less the same - meaning they'd be heading a subsidiary company. I'll find out who heads which company later; for now, I should familiarize myself with what I've been given," she reasoned, her mind focused on understanding the scope and responsibilities that came with her newfound role.
Aurora continued to read through the document, her focus now on understanding the specific responsibilities of Grayson And Mirage Health.
"The company is responsible for developing and distributing advanced medical technologies aimed at improving healthcare outcomes globally," Aurora read aloud, her eyebrows raising in surprise.
"Developing medical technologies... that's a huge responsibility," she thought to herself.
Each paragraph revealed more about the company's mission to innovate in the field of healthcare, pushing the boundaries of medical science.
"This is incredible," Aurora whispered, a sense of pride welling up as she realized the impact her position could have on improving people's lives.
As Aurora processed the responsibilities and potential impact of her new role, a realization dawned on her. "With this, I can definitely help Mom," she whispered, her voice catching with emotion. Tears welled up in her eyes as she envisioned the possibilities.
"I can finally help her get better," Aurora thought. She wiped away tears of both relief and gratitude.
Just as Aurora was deeply engrossed in reading the document, she heard a groaning sound. Startled, she looked up to see the man beginning to come to. He uttered weakly, "What happened to me?"
