Chapter 3 - Th EA

Somewhere on earth, in a secret military facility known only to a few in the United States, the covert operations group known as the "External Affairs" (EA) was stationed.

In the EA's command center, a group of individuals seated in a circular arrangement around the room focused on their computer systems. Suddenly, on the large mainframe screen, coordinates 90°00′N 0°00′E flashed, accompanied by a red dot on the digital map.

"What is that?" Flint, the apparent leader, asked, his voice firm and commanding. He stood tall, wearing a neat black suit, his low-cut white hair dyed to conceal his true age. At around 50 years old, he exuded sophistication and experience.

"Somebody find out what that signal is, goddammit!" Flint ordered.

"Sir," Carter replied, his eyes fixed on his computer screen, "I'm trying to gain access to the military databases to gather more information."

"The readings on this signal are unlike anything I've ever seen before," Carter added, his tone laced with curiosity.

Flint frowned and looked at his trusted colleague, Ling, a Japanese military veteran, who was much younger than him. Ling returned the gaze with an expression of surprise.

Another team member spoke up, "Whatever that is, it has enough energy to power a whole state or more."

"Where is the reading coming from?" Flint asked, his face anxious.

"North Pole, sir," Carter replied, his eyes still fixed on the screen.

The mainframe screen continued to display the red dot on the digital map, coordinates 90°00′N 0°00′E, the North Pole.

Ling walked over to Flint, her eyes locked on the red dot. "This could be big, Flint. If it's not a military operation, it could be something...else."

Flint raised an eyebrow. "You mean like a UFO or something?"

Ling's expression was serious. "I don't know what it is, but we need to find out. If it's not human, we need to be prepared."

Flint nodded. "Agreed. Carter, how's the access attempt going?"

"I'm in, sir," Carter replied. "But I'm not seeing anything. No military operations, no research projects...it's like this signal is coming out of nowhere."

Flint's face set in a determined expression. "Keep digging, Carter. We need to know what this is and where it's coming from."

The team continued to work in silence, their eyes fixed on the screen as the red dot pulsed with an strange reading.
