"Now sit here like a good boy." She said in sign language as she ruffled my hair.
"I knew it! You are a 1000-year-old granny aren't you…" I stopped what I was saying because her monotonic expression finally broke.
She looked angry.
"Sorry..?" I was scared after seeing her face.
In the end, she sighed and pointed her fingers at the entrance of the cave.
At the entrance of the cave, there were rays of sunlight. Yes, it was morning.
I looked at her and wondered about how she knew about it.
My body was a mixture of three races; elf, vampire, and dragon. Made up from the flesh of Emyr, Valmos and Arthur.
And as I was a part vampire, I would turn into dust if sunlight hit me. It may work slower because I was a type of chimera but I would surely be turned into dust. For the time being that is… and test those theories…
Anyway, I looked at her and thought if she wanted to kill me she would have done it already.
But she is not doing it, she wanted something from me.
But what?
So I decided to take my chance again and asked her again, "Who are you?"
"…Amaris" she replied.
(She is using signs)
"Why did you save me? What do you want from me" -me
"…"
She didn't reply.
"Sigh… at least answer some of my questions," I said while sighing.
"Just sleep…" She said.
'Yeah right as if I can sleep with you being here' I wanted to say but I couldn't.
…
Time went by, I didn't sleep.
My awareness was over the maximum capacity. Examining Amaris' every move.
I tried to have a conversation with her, trying to get some information out but was met with silence. So in defeat, I didn't say anything and stared at her.
I was staring at her as she was staring at me. It was like a staring contest.
Anyway,
The sun began to set and soon it was nighttime.
'I should go outside' I thought while chewing on fruits, that were inside Arthur's pouch.
But this time they were flavorless. They were not repulsive or disgusting as Valmos mentioned but still, it was like I was chewing water.
'Guess it is because I am a chimera.'
And no matter how much of that I had eaten in the daytime I was still hungry. Guess I wanted the food that vampires eat.
So I stopped eating and went outside of the cave and Amaris soon began to follow me.
'I need to remove this weakness of not being able to go out in the daytime. It will slow me down and if people could easily identify me as a vampire.'
…
As I walked out of the cave, the wind brushed past my face, filling me with a sense of calm. The half-moon hanging in the sky was beautiful, a normal sight for me in the past, who did not appreciate it at all, but for me in the present it was beautiful.
Escaping from that prison had changed everything. I don't know how long I was trapped in that hell, but now, as I reflect on it, I realize it was just a bad memory. A really bad memory. And I feel grateful to Valmos, Emyr, and Arthur, who helped me escape that hell.
Anyway, I looked around I was surprised at how well I could see in the night. It felt like I was walking in daylight.
I did not notice all this because I was running away from Amaris the previous night.
Amaris… she was… I don't understand her. She does not want to kill me. And saved me from being turned into ash.
So what does she want?
Does she know something about me? Me being a chimera? Escape from abyss hole? Isekai'd by the goddess?
And I don't think I will ask her. I mean what could I even ask, 'Hey! Amaris do you know about me being a chimera who escaped from the abyss hole and is isekai'd by the goddess? Also, do you know about my brother who is or will be a hero, his name is Chris'
Yeah, no… I am not that stupid.
Sigh… if she doesn't want to kill me or harm me then she will become my map to get out of this forest.
"Do you know the way out of this place?" I asked her.
*Shake *Shake, she shook her head.
"…" So why the hell is she even here!?
"So why are you here?" I asked my thoughts.
"…"
"Hey tell me! Don't play this kind of sh*t with me again."
"Language." She said as she furrowed her brows as if not liking the word 'sh*t' from my mouth.
"Now you want to talk… Sigh…" Is it me or I am sighing a lot?
She saved me and even if she wasn't here I would have to find my way alone, thinking that I calmed down.
"So are you lost here?" I asked.
"No, I wanted to come to this place. But what are you doing here?" -Amaris
"Why would you want to come to this place?" -Me
"Don't try to change the topic first answer my question" -Amaris
"Tch… I was here… umm… I am lost." I was never good at lying and couldn't tell her the truth, so I said whatever came to my mind.
"Yeah right" Amaris signed but her facial expression looked like she was using sarcasm and it was indeed sarcasm.
"Anyway now it is your turn so tell me." -Me.
"…"
"Hey! At least do your part of the deal."-me.
"I never said I would play your game."-Amaris.
"Yeah, right… why would a thousand-year-old person want to play games with this lowly child." I said it in anger because age was the only thing that irked her and thought she would not harm me.
But I was wrong as soon as I looked at her expression. Cold sweat dripped from every part of my body. So I ran and I knew I would soon be caught and given a beating…
