After returning to the cave, my cave I asked Amaris, "Can you defeat them?"
"No" Amaris refused.
"Why? You are so powerful, you must be at least tier 6 or 7. So why can't you defeat them?" I asked her.
She shook her head and said, "I am not tier 6 or 7."
"You are telling me you are an even higher-tier person." -me
"No… lower" she signed.
"Tier 1? Tier 2?" I asked.
"Tier 0," she said.
"Then are you telling me you are a child! Who is stronger than me!? How!? Who are you!?" I asked.
"You are just weak…" She said.
'This child' I wanted to curse but knowing she was a child probably lost in the woods, I didn't.
But things didn't make sense how did she know I am a vampire? Or her strength.
Okay, the latter one, she explained it already but I am in denial, my pride wouldn't allow me to accept the truth. I mean I was stronger than my prime but she said I was weak. Are children in this world stronger than my prime in my original world? Now I am even stronger and she says that I am weak…
Sniff… sniff… oh my poor heart don't cry.
Anyway for the former doubt, I asked her, "How did you know I am a vampire?"
"…"
"~Hey tell me~ and I will give you a candy," I said while I took candy out of Arthur's pouch. Man, he keeps everything inside.
"…" She looked at the cand for a brief moment and then looked at me. Veins were popping out of her face.
BAM
And she punched me in the stomach.
"Kughhh… you… you neither want… to be treated as a child nor an old woman. Are you crazy?" I asked while clutching my stomach in pain.
"I have a skill that allows me to see the status screen of others." She said.
Okay, that makes sense but the problem is that I don't have a status screen, that is for now. My status screen is supposed to awaken at a certain moment. So how is she able to do it?
'Maybe she saw it in a dormant state.'
That is the only plausible explanation.
"Don't tell anyone about it," I said.
"Nod Nod" she nodded her head.
…
The kings have already warned me about people like Amaris. They were called Appraisers. They had a skill known as appraisal that allowed them to view other people's status.
Appraisal is a skill that only one in a million have. It was that rare. There is a way to stop being appraised but that is for the future.
The kings warned me because I don't have a system that is given by the goddess and is common around the world. My system is unique and is only made for me. It is different from the goddess's system. So if they were to appraise me they will know that I am not under her system and things will not move according to the plan.
Anyway, I never expected that I would find someone of this skill so early.
I think it is the time to accomplish my plan faster.
…
I along with Amaris started going to the goblin cave every night.
I wanted to know everything about that place; how many goblins were there, their strength, how could I attack them, how I would survive while attacking them, and how could I use the terrain to my advantage.
For that purpose, I visited that place every night.
I am doing this because I want to have that cave. After acquiring the cave, it would save me from the sun and I will be able to move forward.
…
The cave was surrounded by dense forest, with large trees that could be used for cover.
The goblins rarely ventured far from the cave entrance.
Then I started counting their numbers and Amaris used her skill to know their strength.
There were 11 newborns, being of zero tiers, which posed little threat. They were typical examples of how a goblin looked; small, crooked, round belly.
Then 18 goblins were at tier 1.
And lastly, 3 goblins at tier 2. They were the real challenge. With muscles rippling with power, they could easily blast me into smithereens with a single punch.
…
This night, it was a full moon night. And it was a night for me to execute my plan.
"Let's go," I said to Amaris, walking out of the cave.
"You know what to do," I said to her again.
"NOD NOD" she nodded, her face covered with a gas mask.
"Why are you putting it now? you can put it on when you do your part." I asked.
"It looks cool… You should put it too." She replied.
Taking her advice I put it on too. I mean she was right. It looks cool. I never had the chance to put it on in my years of service. But now fate brought me and this mask together and I am not letting this opportunity go.
…
Then we arrived at the location.
It was the same location as the previous nights but different atmosphere.
Signs of battle were everywhere.
Bodies of humans and goblins lay dead across the area.
Among the fallen were 15 goblins, leaving 17 survivors from the original 32. And what I saw next surprised me, the 3 second-tier goblins who were supposedly the biggest obstacles in my plan lay dead.
Scanning the scene, I also noticed 3 human corpses, and behind them were 2 human prisoners. One man and another a woman, bounded and guarded by the remaining goblins, their eyes filled with fear and exhaustion.
The situation, grim as it was, presented a unique opportunity. With the number of goblins significantly reduced and the second-tier threat eliminated, the odds were more in my favor than before.
Realizing this was the best possible scenario, I decided to proceed with my plan. The time to act was now…
