Dezen came to his village as fast as he could.
Alex noticed that he has different clothes and is angry, so he didn't ask him what happened for 2 days.
During them, Dezen only once checked Royal ants, and entirely focused on creating a new offensive spell.
Third day after coming back (not counting the day he came to village, since he did it at the evening), Dezen finally calmed down enough, to normally speak with Alex.
At first, he told him about how he arrived to the area with lava rivers, what he did, to the end of his first meeting with Regina.
He then went silent, so Alex carefully asked.
- What happened next?
- I went to search for magical resources. I found 4 rocks, which were fire magic magical resources.
He clenched his fingers on the table in anger.
- During my way back, phoenix attacked me. We, me and wolf, fought with it. Bugs were useless, so I ordered them to run. That bird stole those rocks I found after 4 hours of hard search. While fighting, everything I took burned, so I had to ask Regina for help. She asked me where the phoenix flew, I told her, and she said she will hunt him down. I hope so.
- And what you were doing during these 2 days?
- I was creating a new offensive spell, I haven't ended yet, but I am close to it.
Alex went silent, wondering what to say.
- How are Royal ants?
- I think they got used to this place now. At first, they were moving... Like they are stressed. It is hard to describe, but they were moving like they were shaking. Now, besides acting normally, they even found some ants which they enslaved.
- Good. Now, I will focus on completing that spell. If there is something important, or you just want to talk, come to my room.
Making that spell complete took Dezen over 1 day.
To test it, he found in the forest, giant rock. It was over 3 metres high, and over 2 wide.
Dezen examined it, to see if something heavily damaged that rock. If something did, then he would have to look for the next one, because the test results would be inflated.
Luckily, it wasn't. He stood over 2 metres from it, and attacked.
Dezen raised his right arm, and on his hand, black fog appeared. It quickly grew to over 2 metres high, and around 3 wide, and slowly moved towards rock.
Dissatisfied with the speed, Dezen tried to make it faster, what surprisingly worked.
Fog quickly touched, then went through the rock, and waited behind it.
With disbelief, Dezen watched rock, or rather its remnants. It looked like countless small blades cut it, turning it into something more similar to gravel than actual rock.
It greatly exceeded Dezen's expectations, so he stayed still for a few seconds, thinking how strong it is, and how else he can test it.
At first, he wanted to test it on trees, but he changed his mind, since they are weaker than rocks, and he doesn't want to waste tree which were growing for dozens of years on such a test.
Instead, he moved fog through remains, to see what will happen.
This time, fog changed it into something resembling sand.
Full of joy, he thought what else can be his testing subject, and went back to his home.
Unluckily, he doesn't possess anything, what could be used to test strength of spell, so he will have to put it aside, and do this in the future.
Dezen wasn't wondering how to name that spell, for too long, he called it Cutting Fog.
He didn't want to create more spells, as for now. Instead, he focused on making researches and tests.
First he did, was examining normal undead wolf, that he kept.
Dezen skinned his head and closely compared his muscles, to the muscles of the biggest wolf, who he partly skinned too.
It took him a few hours and many cuts, before he finally found every difference, which he thought were responsible for giving the biggest wolf such strong bites, and wasn't caused be their size difference.
Now that he found them, he had to face another problem - how to make the second wolf's bites as strong as the biggest's.
As for now, he thought about 4 ways to do this.
The first, was to cut off needed muscles from the biggest wolf, and give them to the second wolf. It alone won't do anything, so to make them new part of the second wolf's body, he will try using on them Healing Fire, to unite them.
It has low chance of success, but he wants to try it, because if it succeeds, it would save him a lot of time.
The second way is almost the same as the first, the only difference, is that he will modify Healing Fire, so it can merge parts of bodies with bodies of another being.
If it fails, he will try to create a new spell, which merges parts of bodies with bodies of another beings.
The fourth way, is alternative of third way. It will be created spell which allows modifying bodies of undead.
Both spells from third and fourth ways, will be useful, so if first, or second way success, Dezen will still create them, just in further future. This is because he won't need them now, nor he wants to make more spells, right now.
First way failed, what wasn't surprising. Dezen tried doing 2 times, before he gave up.
He then started modifying Healing Fire.
Dezen wasn't expecting success, bit it worked.
Surprised, he tested it few times.
It turned out, that undead wolf's became stronger, but not as strong as the biggest wolf's. However, he can crush rocks.
Besides this, it had many imperfections, which make the wolf look strange. Dezen will deal with them in the future, since it's not necessary, and he obtained what he wanted.
Next thing he wanted to, were tests with Royal ants. He then tested if mana in them can affect normal items and his spells. Now, he planned to continue these researches, and add to them attempts to add mana from their corpses, to living ants. The purpose of that test, is to make them stronger.
Such a way will probably need a spell, but he still wants to do this, to see what will happen, and it might give him some hints, how to create such spell.
However, his success with making the second undead wolf's bites stronger, made him wonder how else he can improve them.
For instance, he can try to add muscles to their legs, so when he gives them humanoid shape, so their arms and legs won't be disproportionate to the rest of their bodies. It may also make them faster, but it is just his assumption, which he isn't sure.
He was thinking about for around 2 minutes.
He will have to do this in the future, so might as well do this now. However, he already has planned tests and researches with Royal ants, and he was waiting for it for days.
Finally, he decided that creating a new spell will be too boring and tiring.
Tests with Royal ants could be considered as successes. Small, but still successes.
Adding enslavement mana to his spells gave results only with spell Revival, but Dezen couldn't sense any changes, nor had any idea what it does.
Dezen decided to examine it in the future, since he is still too weak and has too little experience.
Adding enslavement mana to items changed them, but for short periods, too short to test something. This was because, nothing kept mana in them.
Dezen however, was satisfied, since it still gives him hints how to create enchanted items.
He can do the same with his own mana, but it would create items connected with necromancy, which he doesn't need. It would also give him hints to create spell making enchanted items, but only connected with necromancy. For enslavement magic, he would have to make changes.
It was a way to create such a spell, so he tried to do this.
Unluckily, while he was doing it, corpses of Royal ants stated ending, so he just made spell creating items connected with necromancy.
With the rest of the Royal ants corpses, he tried to learn enslavement magic.
After 2 weeks of trying, with and without help of dead Royal ants, Dezen didn't make any progression.
It was normal that learning new magic is long, but he couldn't even make small amount of mana from enslavement magic.
It made Dezen dejected, but he was still trying. However, to not waste time, he started creating new spells.
After 2 weeks, his soul started producing enslavement mana, but these small amounts were abnormal.
Dezen couldn't think of anything what caused it, since nothing like that was known to the majority of current mages, and normal people.
So he thought of something what very little people knew.
Something created by him, necromancy.
