Upon stepping into the Danger Room, Gojo immediately wondered if the room would turn out the way it did in the comics. 'I wonder if it'll gain a consciousness and turn against the team in the future,' he mused. It certainly did not feel like he was in any danger while inside here; he didn't sense any consciousness. The dome-shaped room was composed entirely of metal and appeared incredibly bare but somewhat advanced as well. In fact, the only thing in the room was a large metallic ball that hung onto the ceiling. 'Is that what creates the simulations?' he thought.
Standing close to the center, Gojo had his hands in his pockets and his eyes gleaming with interest, a tiny smile playing on his lips as he looked up.
"Welcome to the Danger Room, Gojo," Charles's voice echoed through several microphones sporadically spread around the room. He introduced Gojo to the new inclusion to the students opposite him. In addition to Scott and the X-Men, Wolverine decided to join in. Ororo's vocal nephew Evan was there too. Finally, there was Rogue, who had hidden in the back. She didn't seem interested in anything but kept glancing at him with curiosity. 'Hmm, what's that about… oh well, I'll deal with it later, but for now,' Gojo thought.
"Why do we have to fight him? Can't he like just go through a simulation?" Kitty asked.
Charles echoed, "This is as much a test for Gojo as it is for you to see how you all measure up. Don't worry, Ororo and Wolverine will be there with you."
Kurt complained, but the professor pressed a button to his right, which made guns appear behind Gojo.
"Hmmm?" Gojo muttered, doing nothing as the guns fired a laser at him. The team was shocked, with Rogue shouting, "Look out!" But the laser crashed harmlessly on him, not even ruffling his clothes, protected by his personal telekinetic shield that he kept active all the time.
Gojo looked at Rogue and teased, "Aww, were you worried about me?" making Rogue blush before looking away.
Hank suddenly spoke up, "What incredible control of his telekinesis."
"Indeed," Charles replied. "See, the simulations are useless against him, so take this opportunity to gauge yourselves."
Rogue shrugged, "Let's just get this over with." 'No matter how strong Gojo is, there is no way he could beat all of us like this, especially with Wolverine and Storm on our team,' she thought.
"Hmnp, make sure you come at us seriously, kid, and don't say this is unfair with that power set of yours; it's just right we face you like this," Wolverine said.
Gojo looked at him calmly for a moment before asking, "Who's the strongest you've fought with?"
Wolverine smiled ferally, "That would be the big green himself, bub."
"Oh yes, I know of him. I sent both him and the Abomination flying during a fight almost two months ago," Gojo grinned, which worried the team at the prospect of the teen in front of them sending such heavy hitters flying away.
Bobby looked at Gojo with slight suspicion. The teen looked increasingly familiar to him, like he had seen him somewhere. His eyes widened in shock, "You… He's the one on the news that was fighting with the Avengers against the Masters of Evil. Oh shit, his face was blurred but his hair is a dead giveaway."
Evan's eyes widened, "We are so dead," he muttered, looking at Gojo who just stood there with his hands in his pockets and a slight smile on his face, looking totally harmless.
"Calm down, Evan," Ororo said to her nephew. "There is no use getting scared before a fight."
"Ororo is correct," Charles echoed. "The test is rather simple, Gojo. If you will…"
"Uh…," Gojo scratched the back of his head sheepishly before saying, "Give me a second," and blinked out of existence, shocking the team.
Logan thought, 'Huh, where'd he go?'
Gojo blinked back into existence, holding up an extra pair of shades he had gone home to get. "This is the objective," he said, hanging the shades on his shirt close to his chest. "Try and take it from me, if you can," he added with a teasing tone.
Kurt hopped around eagerly, "Easy." He disappeared with a small bamf, appearing beside Gojo, hand outstretched as he reached for the shades.
Gojo turned towards Nightcrawler, evading his hand with a teasing grin, "I didn't say start just yet, but alright, START!"
He bent back to dodge an optical beam from Scott while gripping Nightcrawler's outfit. 'His grip is strong,' Kurt thought before he was hurled straight back towards the group, landing straight onto Wolverine. Logan shoved Kurt off and launched himself towards Gojo, claws outstretched and eyes feral with rage. Gojo dodged several of Wolverine's clawed swipes comfortably, as if it was a joke, countering his attacks with a smile.
"How aggressive. Don't you know it's bad to play with pointy stuff, old man?" Gojo taunted.
'Oh, I'm gonna skewer this brat,' Logan thought.
Gojo suddenly shifted his body to dodge Logan before catching his outstretched hand and spinning 360 degrees around to his back, violently backhanding Logan with his fist. Logan groaned and was pushed away, but just before he could fall, Gojo dragged him back with his telekinesis. "I ain't done with you just yet, old man," he said.
Zoooom.
Gojo teleported out of the way as a beam of red energy zoomed towards him again. Logan looked up in slight surprise before he was hit straight in the chest by one of Scott's optic blasts. Gojo appeared beside Scott, "It's not good to fire at your own teammates, you know," he teased.
Cyclops immediately turned and fired another beam towards him. Gojo simply made a motion with his hand, creating a barrier resembling a bubble around him as the blast crashed into it harmlessly.
"That all you got, pretty boy?" Gojo teased as he suddenly disappeared and appeared where Bobby was observing the fight. The moment he appeared behind Bobby, the ground beneath his feet was frozen, taking him by surprise at how fast the ice mutant retaliated as Bobby shouted, "Now, Scott!"
Scott growled and fired several more energy beams towards Gojo, who raised his arm up as the beams slammed into his palm. The beams split as it hit his outstretched palm and slid harmlessly to his sides before crashing into the wall behind him. "Really, I'm beginning to think that you might need to up your output on those beams of yours," Gojo said as he appeared beside Scott again.
