Rosa was intentionally late to the lunch break meeting with Emma by their agreed-upon abandoned spot. She knew the game well—just as men thrived on the chase, women liked a little mystery. Being too available was often a turn-off, and Rosa wanted to play with Emma's heart and nerves keeping her on edge and wanting more.
Not too late though; we wouldn't want her to start thinking straight now, would we?
When Rosa finally opened the back door and stepped outside, she was greeted by an unexpected sight. Emma wore a cream-colored dress and sat on the ground; she had transformed the neglected area into a picnic setting with a checkered blanket beneath her. There were heaps of fruits, pastries, and even a teapot. A net-like wide-brimmed hat shaded Emma's face, concealing her expression, but Rosa noticed her rubbing her lacy sandals together ever so lightly.
