"Garvi ! You're in charge of her. Take her to the common apartments and assign her to the border. If she's still here after a year she can apply to be reassigned," Ahshe said speaking to Garvi, with a dismissive expression on his face.
Tahra simply stood there and waited for when it would be her time to leave, glad when it finally came.
"You're dismissed!" Tahra heard turning around the second she heard it but not before she saw Marina glare at her.
Her eyes eteched with killing intent that promised her a place in hell.
Tahra walking behind Garvi as they left, kept quiet not even looking at the luxerious interior of the building she stood in.
Her mind wandering to the people she left behind as she wondered if they actually missed her.
"If you know whats good for you, you won't go around telling everyone that our Alpha is your new mate!" Tahra suddenly heard Garvi say a second after he suddenly froze to a stop in front of her.
"Of course! Its not like I want to give them another reason to hate me!" Tahra immediately responded.
Foreigners from other packs were never treated well and she had seen enough examples even in her own pack.
"As far as I know, I don't even know your Alpha," Tahra continued prepared to swear that she had never met him if she had to.
With a light nod of approval, one that showed how satisfied he was with what she said, Garvi continued walking and led her out of the house and back to the car where they then made their way straight to her new living quarters.
When the car stopped again, Tahra wasn't surprised to realize that the apartment building was closer to the border of the pack territory rather than it being closer to the center.
"Your work is border duty and your shifts would be allocated to you," Garvi informed her as he led her up the elevator straight to her apartment.
"Its small but it has everything you'll need. There's also a supermarket within a walking distance," Garvi said handing her an envelope the second he stood in front of her door.
"This is an advance and your monthly payment is a thousand dollars,"
Since Garvi began talking, Tahra had simply been passively listening but that was until she heard her monthly salary, an amount that was so little she wondered how she could possibly live on it.
Almost like Garvi could read her mind, he immediately continued to speak, " It will get better the longer you work, moreover, you should still have more than enough money in your bank account," something Tahra mechanically nooded to, too ashamed to mention how she barely had anything.
At home, all she had to do was send the butler to buy it or put it on her family tab.
"I-I'll manage," Tahra replied, beyond glad when Garvi finally handed the key of the apartment "3O5" to her.
"You're to report to the border gate by 8am tomorow!" he told her before he finally turned around to leave.
Tahra didn't hesitate to go into her new apartment, a little stunned by how truly small her living space was. The entirety almost being the same as the her room back home.
The kitchen was small and the bathing area was even smaller. Still Tahra was glad that she didn't have to share it with anyone else.
The fridge was empty but the tap was running and Tahra for the first time in her life, picked up a paper cup and fetched some before she moved to sit on the small sofa in the living area of her one bedroom apartment.
She had just lifted it to take a sip when she stopped, putting the cup down the second she noticed a smidgen of dirt stuck to the rim, on the inside, something she missed.
"Welcome Home Tahra!" Tahra mumbled out loud, as she mentally mocked herself at how far she seemed to have fallen.
***********
They had just left when Marina could no longer hold her anger in anymore. Still, unable to get angry at her alpha, she chose to be calculating instead.
"Ahshe!" she moaned with tears pooling in her eyes as she stood up and moved to sit in his lap wrapping both hands around him.
"Ar-are you really going to leave her in the pack? They obviously don't care about her. No one would bother you if she dies," Marina pleaded knowing that the best time to do such a thing was now, when the bond between them was yet to take root.
'If he had even rejected her on the spot, I would have no reason to worry,' Marina thought to herself, burying her anger within her.
She had stuck to Ahshe's side since their school days ad she'll be damned if a rejected luna would dare to take her place beside him.
"Stop worrying your pretty little head about it! You saw her, she's nothing compared to you," Ahshe comforted her, sliding his hands down her bank and even lower as his hands lightly hovered over her butt.
"I would be a fool to even look at her. The attraction between us also means nothing! Its you I want," Ahshe continued to speak, his gaze getting more intense as he leaned his face right into her bosom.
"I can show you right now if you want," Ahshe beamed and it took all of Marina's years of self-control not to flinch as she smiled just as innocently as she knew Ahshe wanted her to.
His skills in bed were good but they were just as sick and sadistic as she knew Ahshe could be something she didnt want to be afflicted with unless she had to.
"Ahshe! I really can't help but worry. Can I at least keep an eye on her?" Marina asked in the cutest tone she could muster, flinching at Ahshe's cold response.
She had just wondered if she had gone too far as she felt his hand wrap around her elbow tightening hard enough to leave a nasty bruise, when a smirk slowly appeared on his face.
"Sure! Do whatever you want! She's useless and unless Zane cares about her, she's of no use to me." Ahshe replied and Marina was just avout to breathe out a breathe of relief when she felt her body being lifted off the ground.
As he carried her into the house and up the stairs to his secret room, Marina recalled a slightly traumatic memory but she simply gritted her teeth and leaned her head deeper into the crook of his neck.
'He loves me in his own way. As long as I'm luna nothing else matters'
