In response, Zane sighed, staring down at his watch and his environment before fixing his eyes back on Tahra.
"We both know that you'll never do that! By the time they get here I'll be gone but you can't leave. If you tell them that you saw me, they'll only think of you as a spy!" Tahra heard him say, knowing that it was the truth which only served to piss her off even more.
"Even if it wasn't true, you won't scream because as much as you say you hate me, you love me! It's the only reason you've not broken the other half of the bond between us," Zane continued speaking as he closed the distance between them until he was standing face to face with her with barely any space between them.
The first thing Tahra noticed was the faint smell of his cologne. Reigniting memories of when she used to nuzzle right into his neck just to be able to take in the scent of his body.
Annoyed at the recollection, Tahra instinctively took a step back only to feel an arm wrap around her waist keeping her in place.
"Let go!" Tahra immediately snapped at him, physically trying to push him away, not surprised to realize that she couldn't unless Zane chose to let her go.
"Let go!" she snapped in a louder and more frustrated tone only to watch Zane lower his face to the side of her neck, planting a faint kiss there.
For a second Tahra let it be, thinking he would then let her go, only to be more frustrated as she felt Zane lift his head to plant kisses around her earlobe where he knew she was sensitive.
"Zane!" Tahra called out as she felt her heart slowly begin to race in her chest, as she felt his tongue and teeth lick and graze her lobes.
"Zane!" Tahra called out in a more softer tone than she would have liked as she felt Zane pull her closer to him, sliding his nose against the skin of her cheeks, with his eyes fixed on her.
Tahra knew what he wanted to do even before Zane himself did. But two days ago, she would have done the same with the same fervor in her eyes.
Zane lowered his head with the intention to kiss her, his hands sliding to the back of Tahra's neck as he pulled her in, only to watch her shift her face to the side at the very last minute, spurning his kiss.
The next moments were filled with stone cold silence as Zane stared at her and Tahra simply stared into mid air with her face still turned away, pretending not to have seen the wounded look in his eyes.
A few seconds later, Zane slowly let her go, to which Tahra immediately put more distance between them, sending a glare his way.
"I'll never kiss you again! Never!" Tahra told him, meaning each word she said. Just because she still loved him didn't mean she didn't have boundaries.
Getting closer to him would only end up with her getting hurt.
But instead of appearing to be hurt, Zane simply smiled right before he again looked down at his watch and their surroundings, before setting his gaze back on Tahra.
"I love you! I'll say it everytime we meet to make sure you don't forget it!"
"I don't--" Tahra immediately opened her mouth to respond but Zane didn't let her finish.
"I investigated the men in the video," Zane began stunning Tahra who wasn't expecting him to go back to the topic.
"They're all dead!" Zane informed her, watching Tahra's brows tighten in confusion and shock.
"De-dead! What do you mean dead? Did you--"
"Of course not. Whosoever hired them, did. I'll figure it out! In the meantime, I'll try to check up on you as often as I can!" Zane told her but Tahra's thoughts were still on the dead men who had been hired to frame her.
"Take care of yourself Tahra!" Zane said and Tahra snapping back to reality was just about to mention that Maeve, her sister knew something about it when she saw Zane jump, climbing the wall with precision, disappearing behind it.
For a second she was surprised knowing how much strength Zane would have needed to exert to climb such a huge wall. Wondering if she would have been able to do the same thing if she wasn't so weak.
But after a few seconds of being alone and staring at the wall in front of her, Tahra's thoughts finally strayed back to her sister, which made her murmur to herself under her breath.
"Maeve is evil but she definitely wouldn't go as far as to kill people!" she said aloud to herself, thinking that even if anyone could have done it, it would probably be 'Drey' her insane brother.
A few minutes later, a loud bell rang signifying a change of shift. Tahra waited and after ten more minutes without seeing the person that was supposed to take over, Tahra simply left.
'I refuse to cover for someone that's rude enough to be late!' Tahra thought to herself as she headed out the path she took back home.

"Come in!" Balin heard Alpha Ahshe's voice from behind the door beckoning him in, which made him instantly walk in with his head bowed a little to the ground to show submission as he entered and closed the door behind him.
"Alpha! Sergeant Balin reporting!" he announced, raising his head to salute before lowering it to the same way it was.
"Hmmm!" Alpha Ahshe sighed, not once lifting his eyes to look at the young man who had just entered his office.
"Did you watch her like I ordered?" He asked to which Balin vigorously nodded his head, opening his mouth to speak in a panic the moment he realized that the Alpha wasn't looking at him.
"I watched her carefully! There was nothing unusual!" He reported feeling a drop of sweat slide down his back as he did his best to hide the nervousness he felt.
There was no need to mention the hour until her shift was over when he suddenly felt the need to use the toilet, unable to return until way after the shift was done.
The slight burn in his asshole was a reminder of the mission he had failed to commit.
"That's good! Keep watching her! You may leave!" Ahshe's tone still as commanding and authoritative as ever.
Balin didn't need to be motivated as he immediately turned around and left, even as his heart continued to pound in his chest.
Others might not know but he and a few colleagues knew the kind of person Ahshe was. One that enjoyed torturing people for fun. The last thing he wanted was to ever get on his bad side.
