Chapter 17 - Are You Jealous?

"I'm just being cold because I want to return to my normal self." She continued. She felt like it was because of what she did yesterday that got her into that big trouble. Should she branch out at the hospital? You injured your right, and you need to be checked. He questioned her, and then she chuckled slightly. "Since when did you start caring? I will be fine; let's just go home. Claire was a little bit stunned by his caring act. She couldn't tell if he was just joking or if he really meant it."So, are you going to see that guy? Is it necessary for you to treat him to a meal? You could just send him a "thank you" gift. He tried to change the topic again. "What's the use? I mean, he is so cute, and he might finally be the one I end up with." She was still suspicious of the way he was acting. "Don't tell me you are jealous." She said so, and then he screamed. "No! Why would I be jealous? Jealous of him? I bet you don't know me." Joshua tried to hide how he was feeling. He didn't know if he was really jealous. "Then, are you scared? You don't want to see me with him because of what the media might get to say?" Claire wanted to know what he was really thinking about him saying something like that. "You shouldn't care about something like that. You can go for whatever you want." He shrugged his arms, acting like he didn't care anymore. He knew his brother knew about the condition of their marriage. He knew what his brother was capable of doing, and he might get to take her from him. He and his brother have always been on bad terms ever since. It was his stepbrother, and Mike was loved by his father more than anything. Ever since Joshua's mother left him alone with that family of his, he hadn't felt loved by his family after that. His grandfather was the only one who made him feel loved. Mike would always find a way to make his father hate him more. He used just one and a half years of senior mode. "I am really concerned about someone finding out what is going on in our relationship. What if he was someone who didn't know how to keep a secret about something?" "If he were someone like that, the media would have been filled with both of us trending by now. Can you stop talking about him? It's getting boring now." Claire added after she answered his question. Joshua remembered that his father had sent him a message yesterday. It was the location for their honeymoon, and he told him to take her there at all cost. Joshua took out his phone and showed her the message. Claire's eyeball almost popped out of the socket immediately after she saw the invitation that was given to her by Joshua. "Do you really mean that? I thought he was joking when he said we would be going on a honeymoon." She rubbed her hand against her forehead, frustrated already. Joshua got to the house in no time and then assisted her in opening the car door. He stretched out his hand and then helped her out of his car. "Why are you acting so weird this morning? I don't think anyone is around you can act normal." She was getting tired of the kind of things he was doing that morning. "Strange? Trust me! I am not acting strange. This is all part of acting. They are all staring at us, as you can see." Joshua replied, and then carried her in bridal style. "What the hell do you think you are doing?" She was shocked when he carried her. Find a faster way for us to leave this marriage." He carried her into the house. The maids, who were all at the house, were shocked to see both of them that way. "I think both of them are finally getting along with each other. That is lovely to watch." One of the maids said this to another maid, who was right beside her. "Grandfather doesn't need to be worried anymore after what they are doing right now. "We should also tell him about this." Another maid whispered into another's ear. Joshua walked up the stairs with Claire in his arms, then went into their room and threw her on the bed. "Oh my goodness! My hands hurt. What the hell are you eating?" He'd stretched out his palm in pain, seeing how hard it was for him to carry her. "I am not eating anything! What you just felt was muscle mass, dummy!" She replied to him. "Also, I didn't force you to carry me. What are those muscles for? Display? Fashion? You can't even carry me!" She hissed out loudly. "You! You!..." Joshua couldn't think of what to say, so he just stuttered. He took the first-aid box and dropped it on the bed. "I thought you said you didn't have one at home? "Did this one appear suddenly?" She questioned him, and then chuckled. "Can't you see this is new? I don't want to wait by the roadside just because you want to treat a wound. It looked like you are the clumsy type, and you would fall into any accident at any small sight, so I decided to buy it." He said this while he opened the first box. "There is an ointment in there. You should apply for it. The private jet will take off this evening. You can call Ann and tell her to help you with the packing." He walked out of the room while he left her to do her thing. Claire scoffed as he walked out. She took out the ointment that was in the first aid box, and she used it to rub her ankle, which was in pain. She winced a little bit as she rubbed it.
