Ace broke out in cold sweat as he was glared at
" so, he's your boyfriend?!"
Neon spoke. Huh? Wait....is that why Neon is hostile towards Ace? Pfft! It took a lot of self restraint so I don't burst into a roar of laughter
" no! No way! Not in any way! Partners, in the sense that we work together, that's all!"
Ace hastily spoke up to disperse the misunderstanding Neon had. Probably because of the death glared he received from Neon and when I nodded, agreeing to what Ace said , Neon then sighed in relief and put out his hand for a handshake
" if my parents approve of you, then I have no doubts about you being a good guy. Just promise to protect my sister."
Ace took his hand and nodded like a rattle. Neon then hold his hand tightly and gave a warning
" if any harm should come to her, I can promise you that you would see the scary side of me"
I rolled my eyes and seperated their hands. Here goes Neon and his empty threats. Mum then knocked
" sweety, it's time for lunch. I'm sure you all can catch up later okay?"
" yes mum! We'll be right there"
Neon spoke but instead of leaving, my mum asked
" who was talking to you? I was talking to my Angels that got back"
Neon rolled his eyes and walked out. Probably because he was jealous of me! I thought to myself.
We all went to the dinning table at sat for lunch. As we are, my mum began a conversation
" Ace dear, sorry about our small home. We actually don't have a spare room so...."
Before mum could finish her statement, Ace spoke up
" don't worry aunt, I can share a room with Bella. We do that often back at the base"
Immediately he spoke those words, everyone except Ace turned to look at me with wide eyes which made me choke on the juice I was drinking.
" what?"
I asked, not knowing the reason for their stares.
" sweety, it's extremely Wrong to share a room with a guy, especially one who isn't your boyfriend!"
Really? Well, I just got used to sharing things with Ace that it had become a habit.
" fine, fine, I got it "
" since that is settled, Ace will be sharing a room with Neon "
Dad decided without asking for Neon's opinion about it and Neon did not like that decision causing him to remain silent for the entire meal. Adrian and Adriana were having a sleepover at their friend's house so mum took them right after lunch while dad had an emergency call at the office so he rushed over, leaving Neon , Ace and I alone at home. Ace took my bag to my bedroom and helped me unpack . Once we were done, we both went to Neon's room with Ace's stuff. Neon was in his little study room so we unpacked silently so as not to disturb him. But within two minutes, Neon called me to the study
" what's up?"
As soon as I said that, he drew me into a tight hug and whispered
" I really, really missed you cupcake. When I got word that you were taken, I almost went crazy. Even when mum and dad said that you wrote often, I still got scared that something might happen to you there. But now, I'm so glad you're safe and sound "
From his hug, I could feel how scared he must have been. I rubbed his back and softly said
" now you don't need to worry anymore. I'm back for good and I'm not leaving again "
He then pulled away and kissed my forehead
" of course you won't be leaving, not when you're within my sight "
I chuckled, thinking he was joking but when I saw his serious expression, I swallowed back the chuckle.
" I'll be going back to country Z. My boss just requested the presence of higher ranking personnels in two days time,so I'll be leaving tomorrow "
My eyes widened
" but you...I just got back and I have barely spent some quality time with you!"
" yeah, I know that. That's why you're coming with me to country Z "
He said with a wide smile
" oh, country Z. Wait... what?!!"
He nodded then patted my hair
" I talked to mum and dad before you came back and they both agreed with this decision."
My head became muddled.
" but...but....but...what about Ace? He has nowhere to go to and I can't just leave him here alone!"
I blurted out, thinking it will make him change his mind but.....
" that's why he is coming with us cupcake "
He said happily. Oh God! Neon is actually serious!
" so cupcake, do me a favour and repack your things again. Tell Ace to do the same as well"
I nearly developed a migraine after he said that. Ace is not gonna like this news one bit! I looked at my brother one last time,well, I glared at him while he put on a bright smile like he had nothing to do with my fowl mood. I got out of the study, only to be pulled by Ace to the spare bed in Neon's room. Hugging me from behind, he asked
" so, when are we going to see how the neighbourhood looks like?"
I turned to face him then gave him a wry smile
" I don't think it's possible "
He then stood up, taking me up with him
" what does that mean?"
" Neon spoke with mum and dad. We're leaving tomorrow with him to country Z. He said something about not leaving his sight again "
He then hesitated as he asked
" so....does that mean you're going to leave me here while you leave with him?
" of course not! You're coming with us"
He immediately sighed in relief and smiled
" good! I don't what I'd do without you by my side"
I hugged him and said
" me too! We'll always stay together, no matter what"
" yeah"
He said while hugging me back.
