The hero clenched his fists, emanating a brilliant light that embodies the hope, perseverance, strength and will to live of humanity despite the tragedies that they have faced. He gritted his teeth as he mustered the unfamiliar strength granted to him by his party's will.
"You have underestimated humanity, Andromalius. This is your loss." The hero claimed.
"Kukukukwaahaahahaha!" The demon laughed hysterically as he caught his breath. "You're mistaken, hero. You think you've won!? Preposterous! I, Andromalius is just the beginning of humanity's nightmare! Defeating me means nothing! I have reached my goal , and that is to cause chaos here on earth, I am the bridge that will connect the demon realm from here! We've been waiting for this moment ever since that Bastard Solomon sealed us! For over a couple of thousand years, we've been waiting, waiting and waiting! Preparing for this moment! Kukukhahahwahahahaha! The other 71 demons will ascend here on earth and will unleash wrath, despair, war that's unparalleled than mine!" He exclaimed.
The hero smiled bitterly, not surprised.
"I know Malio..... And I have waited for this moment too." He replied.
The demon's grin suddenly disappeared. His face plastered a confused and melancholy emotion.
"H-how-what did you- how did you know that!?" The demon said in blatant disgust and anger.
The hero pointed his finger above. "He said so. Now Goodbye"
He pierced the demon's body with his fists. Ending it's life. Its body slowly disintegrated.
The demon looked above, his angered face became soft, tears fell down his eyes.
"We just wanted to be adored by you, father." He weeped upon his dying breath... And then he fully disintegrated into the thin air.
The hero shouted his victory, Fullfilling his promise to his fallened party.
Suddenly a bright light shone and a being cannot be identified appeared.
"You've fullfilled your role, hero. You can rest now. It will be long until the great enemies will attack again but in that time, humanity will be the victor. You and your parties' influence will garner a new beginning for your people." It said.
"Until again, incarnation of the father Solomon. Your spirit will flow again in the cycle of life...." the voice echoed as it disappeared.
The hero's body fell.
"Ahhh shit. I can feel my end..... But this is the right thing... Right? I have done what I could.... For them, for humanity..... Comrades, I Marco will join you now...." He smiled bitterly as his breath went away.
He slowly closed his eyes. His face was bright, smiling as if the hero was just sleeping.
Rain slowly fell down, as if mourning the death of the young hero.....
The end of book 1.
I closed the book that I've read and put it on the table beside me. It's sad that the hero died like that.... But he's a hero, who saves people. A ray of hope.
I sighed. "How I wish I could be like him." (Not dead obviously) but as his character. Someone who is strong, courageous, upright and never shows fear even faced with despair.... I'm the total opposite of him. Weak, fearful and a coward.
Sigh.....
"Alex! Dinner is ready" mom called.
"Coming!" I replied as I tidied my bed and went downstairs.
"How was your science fair yesterday?" Mom suddenly asked.
"I came.... First... " I replied.
I can see her wide smile and she then kissed me on my forehead.
"I'm so proud of you son, I'm sorry if I wasn't able to come yesterday, there were many patients in the hospital and I had to do overtime." She said sadly..
I caressed her hands and held them tightly.
"It's okay mom, I understand. " I said and hugged her.
"Thank you son. And of course I prepared your favourite food! Pinakbet stir fried in bagoong." She said sweetly.
"Thanks mom. You're the best. " I replied and then we started to eat.
After I finished eating. I immediately went to school. I am walking as I have no means of transportation and the allowance given by mom.... I don't wanna spend it and it's okay since I always arrive at school early and I have time left to rest for a bit before class starts.
As I was walking, I saw some cats on the bench resting. Gaaaaaah they're so cute!
I immediately went to them and stared which they stared back too.
"Meow" they meowed as they walked towards me and sticked their bodies on my legs.
I can't help but feel eleviated. I sat and they also sat beside me. I petted them. I can't contain my happiness as I touched their soft furs.
"Purrrrrrrrr" I can hear their small purrs while I pet them.
Aaaaaaaah this is heaven.....
I stood up.
"I have to go now kitties! I have school! See you later!" I said..
